Again, fantastic updates! I like the fact that you are adding lot of green, and the city has a realistic look to it. I really enjoy your updates!

@Raceman95 - I just keep building and trading off resources.  I am buying nearly 100% of my industry minus high tech and selling LOTS of workers for income.  i nearly have the map full.... and then comes the constant tweaking and rebuilding haha.

Everyone else - thank you for the comments.  Your continued interest and wonderful comments/suggestions really help me keep this city going and growing. 4.gif

Unfortunately I wasn't able to play as much this weekend as I had hoped.... I did add a couple new areas.  The city is now sitting just at 1.8mil people.  Citizen satisfaction across all wealth levels is between 80-84% and businesses are all at 100%.  Here are a few shots from around the newer areas.... I really have a LOT in mind right now I want to work on this week and give you guys a HUGE update and some surprises!!!

I believe Jay is using one of the green valley's maps (?)... As far as the mods, you just unzip them + drop them in your MC 'Paks' folder. Very easy.

Yes, I am using the Wetlands map in the Green Valley area. It has a great amount of flat land to build on. The only problem with it would be the lack of water transport connections for ports, but I'm making do. And Jazy - yea I keep thinking about Nashville a lot when I am building certain areas of town. The waterfront is a huge work in progress and I really hope to make it look a lot better. 4.gif

Simply fantastic! I see you worked a lot on the greenery and you are renovating certain neighborhoods and everything is getting really nice. By the way, your traffic map, how do you snapshot that image using the snapshot in the game? Do you just Print Screen with your keyboard to do it? I'd like to get a couple of pictures of the traffic myself for my own journal. Your city is one of the best, keep up the good work!

Since I'm checking out this journal a couple of times a day, I may as well be Jaybird's spokesman, lol.....

Anyhow, Yannick - you highlight your traffic congestion (economy - traffic) and take a regular in-game screenshot (as you'd do with other normal screenshots) + it is saved in MC's pictures folder...

Raceman - make sure you place it in the 'PAKS' folder... It should work (if not then delete and replace it again)... although personally I'm not using the sandbox mode mod...

You don't use the sandbox? How do you manage the cost per tick? Is that why you have industrial neighborhoods in the city? All the highway + the expressways + everything else is so expensive that without the sandbox and without the omnicorp cheats, I just gave up on it. How do you do it?

I don't want to highjack this thread, but indeed, I do not use the sandbox --- this makes me think twice before doing any big spending.... It gets pretty hard to stay in the green after a while, but hey, I've managed to keep going so far with all my cities, although VOLKA's cash flow is negative now (but we have a nice savings account from the previous years --a nice cushion)...

LOL, I'm pretty much socially-progressive when I play CXL, fiscally conservative -- kind of like in real life....

That would be a basketball court 4.gif And jazy....if I ever get creative enough to make a story-telling CJ you will more definitely be the spokesman for the maoyr 4.gif

And remember - with sandbox mode the Omnicorp token adjustment is completely optional in the menu. I am not a fan of budgeting and just enjoy building and working on the city-building. I am very grateful to Moaku for creating and releasing this mod for us to use.

Yeah, it's not like a fan of budgeting myself -- I simply believe NOT using the sandbox is a bit more realistic as it perhaps keeps teh mayor from overspending -- but then your city is the most realistic one I've seen and you use the sandbox... 4.gif

BTW, I've seen you using tennis courts before in Dickson -- are those made available after your city gets really big?

The roundabout mod is not available if your city is very small -- you need 5,000 residents -- I believe - for it to work....
