    No.25 - Starting up

    Replies

TekindusT - Thanks! Thank Photoshop too...

Archean - Yeah, rough, but he did it for a better life.

    Days passed.

    Condo.jpg

Many things happened over the few days. The family received their furniture (majority from Ikea) and began to settle in. The kids also felt welcome into the new urban environment they were immersed in.

Interviews left Michael tired and dull, yet full of anticipation like a little child at Christmas. Today, he was scheduled to go for one last interview.

    Officenight.jpg

    The meeting went till evening.

    "vous etes embauche"

    "merci, merci."

And it ended well, spectacularly well, Michael thought, as he walked to the tram station for the commute home. The fact he was hired made him full of joy, with just one snag: speaking French everyday, a language he detested.

The next day brought great hope for the family, especially about better times ahead. Joanna set about for a new mission - Buying a car.

    Cardealer.jpg

She set off for a few second-hand car delaers she had found on Google and went about looking for the best deal.

And she came out driving this:

That's a 2010 Toyota Yaris, for those who want to know

Meanwhile, something happened at the Bearingham High School, which would test the family's unity and togetherness...

Thanks for watching! Feel free to comment...

Wow, nice family. I guess with this new job they'll be able to pay off that brand new car.

And what happened at the school? I have no idea if it's something of that magnitude. o.O! Great use of the color editing too.

    I'm the 'A' to the 'r', to the c-h-e-a-n,
and even though my name means 'old' I'm really quite pimp,
    I'm Archilicious.

    No.26 - Exploring

    Replies

Archean - Yep. And, lets say its not a pleasant experience. I will be covering it over a few updates, so...

Flann - Thanks! I appreciate it

Benedict - Thanks too. Now when do I make it to the +10?

    So what happened in school?

    School.jpg

It so happened that Sara had met a guy. Mike was a baseball player with the school team, with good grades and all of  that, so much so he was poised to become valedictorian when he graduated.

    Shopping.jpg

When they met, they instantly connected. They were often seen hanging out together at Sophiane Avenue, the shopping area in Highvale.

Even Joanna seemed not to mind. She felt such relationships were constructive, especially when Mike looked like a good person with a bright future. She herself had begun on a "revitalisation" campaign to try and explore the place she was living in. Highvale was great, but how did the suburbs look like. Was there anything special around?

The mobility the Yaris afforded gave her the excuse to cruise around and explore the city more.

She left the Highvale city centre and drove to South Claireville, a small suburb which fed into Highvale.

    Airportdemolition.jpg

This suburb had a special landmark. The old Highvale Airport was temporarily being used as a general aviation field, while the terminal was being pulled down.

    GAapron.jpg

She took a particular interest in the general aviation area, with its assortment of helicopters, fireplanes and light planes.

    Pic3.jpg

As well as the threshold of the old runway, largely closed to traffic.

She also took other shots of the city:

    Pic2.jpg

Then, as a way to stave off boredom, she also took up long-term stock trading, at the CI&CI (Corraile Industrial & Commerce Index)

That's all there is for now. Thanks for dropping by, and I do appreciate comments 9.gif

Flann - Um... Thanks? I appreciate the comment, though!

A couple of weeks passed by.

    Golfcourse.jpg

Michael found himself playing golf with his boss. And, as some may have expected, he was playing as his caddy.

"So, Gowan, have you ever thought of going overseas?"

"I've never done that, sir, although I would like to."

"Good. We need a translator in Solando for a few days to help seal up a deal. Will you go?"

    "Sure, why not?"

"WHAT? GO OVERSEAS? And leave me alone?"

    "Its only a few days..."

    Condo.jpg

    Will Michael go? Stay tuned.

I would like to take an opportunity to show off Highvale International Airport. its the 2nd largest Airport in the Corrailite Peninsula after Centreburg Gateway.

    Airport3.jpg

    An overview of the airport.

    Airport4.jpg

It receives large international flights from places like Paris, courtesy of Air France.

    Airport1.jpg

And flights from the US, brought to you by your favourite Legacy Carrier.

    Airport2.jpg

As with many other large airports, Highvale International Airport is expanding. The expansion will allow for 6 more gates, for increased capacity and efficiency.

Thanks for stopping by, an do remember to comment! 9.gif

Try setting your shadow settings to "high", if it isn't already.

Other than that, good CJ. Too bad it's rather underrated...
