    No.15 - The seaside escape

    Replies

Schulmanator - Quite a success. Thank you

    Dumanios - Very shocking indeed

MR.X.1 - Really? The war will go on for some time, I promise.

ComputerGuy890100 - I like too! Especially when used on the enemy! 9.gif

    ImVhOzzi - Really? Thanks!

Despite all the successes in the air, the ground defense was still reeling from the loss of Fairport. Already, the Fairman Island ground forces had their eyes set on the next target where the Corraile Forces were stationed. Prince Crater.

Prince Crater is a tourist attraction. To minimise any diplomatic issues after the war, the crater and the hotels were under heavy guard.

Closer to town centre, however, everything was different.

    Battle.jpg

A small resistance force took on the main invasion force, but soon fell back.

    Dunkirk.jpg

A Dunkirk-style escape from the coastal town took place the next day, with the local ferry company voluteering 2 Ro-ro ferries to take the troops back to Freedo, where all the imported forces were concentrated.

    Shelling2.jpg

The city-centre was devastated by both aerial bombing by the enemy as well as from shelling from the ground.

    Shelling1.jpg

Likewise, the coastal homes were severely hit.

    Marinaguardian.jpg

The CNV Barrage, the designated "last guardian" of the city, docked at the Marina. The ship will ferry home the small resistance force back to Freedo.

That's all for now. Be sure to follow the war!

The Defense Minister of Corraile would like to inform all citizens that the Proposal for the Enhancement of Naval Capabilities project has been approved through the Parliament Voting System.

This PENCE project includes upgrading/enhancing the performance of Corraile's navy through introduction of two naval bases which the President(kccl35) would specify the location. The budget of this project is set to be 100 million Corraile dollars. We plan to keep costs to a minimum even though land reclamation for the two islands which the naval bases will be located at will be implemented with high costs. Other than building naval bases, we hope to enhance our naval fleet with additional carriers, planes and destroyers. The project is set to proceed right after the war with The Republic of Fairmen(Fairman).

    - Stan Lee(Defense Minister of Corraile)

    No.16 - The breakthrough

    Replies

    Mayorm - Thanks!

    Jacqulina - Thanks as well!

The Corraile Armed Forces have been abandoning territories quite recently. This, actually, is part of a battle plan to convince the enemy forces into complacency. The breakthrough was to take place at Montridge.

    Battleday1.jpg

This was the first day of battle.

    Explosion-1.jpg

Day 2 had air strikes, dropping huge bombs on the enemy forces. Also, the Fairman Island forces were surrounded by reinforcements from Freedo.

    Forestfire-1.jpg

The aftermath of the air strikes

    Townfire.jpg

The town area was also severely hit

Please, do continue to follow the war and the CJ afterwards

Wait a minute I must have missed something. Corraile's winning right? There's a lot of collateral damage being done however.

This looks like a costly conflict.

    No.17 - Turning around

    Replies

    Schulmanator - Lotsa damage alright!

Archean - Sorry if i've been a little ambiguous. That is actually the turning point of the war, where Corraile begins to win. Regarding the battleplan thingy, its basically designed to lure the enemy in and purposely lose battles to let them feel arrogant, and then slap them by the backsides when they become complacent.

After weeks of fighting, Corraile troops began to get the upper hand. Corraile forces finally crossed the border in numbers no less than 9000 and finally began to slip into Whitehart, Fairman Island's capital.

    Megaboom.jpg

The RCAF began with intense bombing of the downtown areas.

    spacer.gifDowntownfire.jpg

Small fires burned throughout the downtown for the rest of the day.

    Invasion.jpg

Ground forces weren't that far away. The invasion will begin shortly...

Finally, a shock to everyone again

That's all there is for now. Thanks for stopping by! 1.gif

No.19 - The life of a Corrailite miniseries and West Centreburg

    Replies

    None

Since the war is over, I have decided to embark on a new way of showcasing this CJ. I've decided to begin a "TV-like" miniseries called "the life of a Corrailite". The plot revolves around the Gowan family, a working-class family living in West Centreburg. Today, i'll just give you guys a brief intro.

    HomeoftheGowans.jpg

The Gowans live in that house with the blue roof, right smack in the centre of the picture.

They consist of these 4 members

    -Michael Gowen, family breadwinner. Father.

    -Joanna Gowen, homemaker. Mother.

    -Sara Gowen, teenage daughter. Student.

-Jeremy Gowen, elementary school stundent. Son.

    MrGowansworkplace.jpg

Michael works as a stock-taker at the local Kohls, in the West Centreburg commercial district.

That's the basic introduction of the Gowans. Since we're here, I might as well show some random pictures of West Centreburg.

    RailUnderpass.jpg

    ChurchSqaure.jpg

    As well as a mosaic!

    Mosaic1.jpg

    Mosaic2.jpg

    Mosaic3.jpg

Hope you all enjoyed it! 9.gif

    No.20 - The Gowans Ep 1, Season 1

    Replies

    Schulmanator - Thank you.

J-man-42 - Thank you very much! And if I may quote the very first post on this CJ, the benefits of citizenship are as follows.

    -Citizens can

-Vote for the government when its election time

-Get a residence of their own (Avatars in game extra... But its free too!)

-Have their say noted in important decisions in Parliament

-Even get to be a minister, district head or mayor!

Notice anything different? We have a banner now! 18.gif

    Back at the Gowans'...

    HomeoftheGowans.jpg

Everything was in its usual mess. The kids were fighting and Joanna had planted her face onto the coutertop, sighing away. She wasn't the best mediator, for all her attempts failed.

She decided, not to waste time cooking for her unappreciative kids, and took them to a random diner for dinner.

She got everyone into the car, hit the gas and quickly merged into the highway.

    Kohlsatnight.jpg

Meanwhile, after an exhaustive 9-hour shift as a stores keeper, Michael could finally drag his feet out of Kohl's. Perhaps due to fatigue, or just not thinking straight, he walked straight out.

He didn't notice two bright eyes gazing at him, getting closer to him whilst staring at him unblinkingly. He walked on.

Her cellphone rang. The process of paying was quick at these working-class diners; you ate paid and went. She dug the depths of her purse for that elusive 50 cent coin to pay for the parking.

She answered the call. Her face went white, and she shuttled the kids into the station wagon and hurriedly drove off.

    EmergencyMedicalCentre.jpg

She stopped at the local emergency medical centre. Her mind was a blank, sprinting into the lobby.

To be continued... Stay tuned for updates!

    Viewership, comments

I would like to seek some professional advice. For veteran CJers, do you think my CJ has pulling power, do you think people would bother to comment? Please do leave your thoughts behind.

Also, for others, do you suggest any improvements?

Thanks for your time. I really appreciate it 1.gif

    No.20 - The Gowans Ep 2, Season 1

    Replies

    Schulmanator - Keep watching!

    EmergencyMedicalCentre.jpg

    At the Emergency medical centre...

The kids had snuggled up to her. Her face was creased with worry. What happened? Why?

Those bright lights Michael saw had come from a car. The screeching of tyres was too late for him to hear.

The doctors came out of the operating theatre. The expected drama ensued

"How's he? Is he okay? Is ha alive? Can he be saved..."

"Calm down, Mrs Gowan. He's fine. He'll be here for about 2 weeks to recuperate. He's not awake yet, but you guys can visit him. Gee, its close to closing time soon. Make the best of your time."

For the kids, they weren't so worried, but Joanna clearly was. She didn't want to disturb him, so she just went home.

    HomeoftheGowans.jpg

Back home, she lay on the bed for half a day. The kids were concerned but decided not to meddle with their parents' affairs.

    To be continued... Next update

No.22 - Restarting life... Please wait...

    A week passed.

    MedCentre.jpg

Michael finally left the Medical Centre, a little weak, but alive and well. It didn't take long to dampen his spirit, however.

    MrGowansworkplace.jpg

Strangely enough, Kohl's decided to furlough him. Severance pay was limited, however, to his job, which wasn't that well paying.

    HomeoftheGowans.jpg

He went home to announce his joblessness, and then left for Centreburg via train.

    Neighbourhoodstation.jpg

The neighbourhood train station wasn't empty, yet it wasn't full. The train came, right on time. Michael stepped in.

    Trainstation.jpg

Centreburg North was where the HyperExpress terminated and interconnected with the heavy rail network.

That wasn't important for Michael at all. More important to him was the Manpower Assistance Agency was nearby.

The place was also known as 'worker's helpdesk'

    EmploymentCentre.jpg

He filled up some forms and paperwork that needed his qualifications and educational status. He just wrote:

    College-educated.

When he was done, he went home, full of sorrow and hope that a better job would come. Change, he said, was

something that was either for better or for worse, but inevitable. Meanwhile, he gazed at the beautiful

Middle and upper-class homes in the inner surburban areas. That was his goal.

No.23 - To move, or not to move?

    Replies

Petrovar Ambassador - I totally agree

    Schulmanator - Thanks a lot!

23 of June came. The house was quiet, all too quiet, however.

    HomeoftheGowans.jpg

"This is the first time walking to the postbox carried so many emotions." The thoughts of Michael were swirling vigorously around his head. Today was the day he would receive the results of his various job applications.

He had expected the usual reply "Sorry but there are no available job slots open at this moment." or something like that. He got a real shock when he opened the letter.

10 jobs open. The best one paid $5500 a month.

"Wow... wow... Oh my god... Is it true, Michael? Pinch me..."

    Highvale.jpg

The family was now faced with a dilemma. Move to Highvale, or stay out of a job. The former was definitely a better option.

    "People, we're moving to Highvale.

    About Highvale

Highvale is the smallest of the big 3 cities on the Corrailite Peninsula (The other two being Centreburg and Colganston). Highvale was the ex-capital of Colonial Corraile (aka British Corraile). The city was the main centre for the Alliance Cup 2010.

Now some shots of the city.

Are the Gowans going to live in a condo? I think they should, but that is if Mr Gowan got a job in an office building or something.

No.24 - What happens in Highvale

    Replies

Mayorm - Thanks. I find the history rather brief, though.

    Schulmanator - Again, I'll say thanks 9.gif

    jeffsandychelsea - Yes they are.

    Arrival.jpg

    They arrived.

The HyperExpress went past the farmland of middle Corraile, the children gazing with awe and amazement at the farms whipping by. The train was going by its usual speed of around 315km/h, whisking them across the Corrailite Peninsula in less than an hour.

Michael had to leave the rest of the family in taking a look at their new home.

    Office.jpg

Michael found himself looking up a dizzying height of glass panels. The Comptabilite Mischel & Quimper Building was owned by the Lanayan Accounting Firm which the building is named after. He was accepted to the position of, well, an accountant.

    Meanwhile...

    Condo.jpg

No.29 Stewarden Road was occupied with a huge towering condominium, the tallest building around.

The family was to make do with a tiny apartment with just 2 rooms and a total floor space of only 980sq ft. It was what people called a "Mickey Mouse" apartment.

The family had to go shopping for essentials the next day. They marked out certain places they would go to:

    Ikea.jpg

    The Ikea at midtown

    Tesco.jpg

As well as the Tesco not far away from the Ikea.

Shopping like that would be tiring, without a car or proper beds to rest at home.

I hope you like the little addition to the bottom of the pictures, as well as the story so far!

Looks like their new life is starting as a little...rough? The man wanted more money to come in but their living conditions i think may have gotten a bit worse.

Really nice city though! Seems this rural family needs to adjust to the inner city life.
