Problems with rendering Greyscale maps

im having trouble rendering greyscle regions. Everything works fine, i.e downloding the jpeg and the bmp, its the

actual redering phase.

When press ctrl+alt+shift+r the box pops up, I navigate to the correct folder, click on the jpeg, and nothing happens.

I've already sucessfully rendered one before, and i can't see why its not working!

Any help is appreciated. Cheers.

Most likely the jpeg is not a true 8 bit greyscale. Open it in any photoshopping program (I use PaintShop, but many people use Gimp or Photoshop) and reduce the color depth to 256 colors.
