Hey all

I hope to be doing a lot more work with the BAT/ lot editor, and hope to bring you guys a lot of interesting models and lots.

Although at the moment I have no ideas, other than I want to continue with old buildings.

So, here's hoping you'll enjoy my creations! My lots are linked to in my signature, for easy access

Ah, nice to see you in the forums! As far as ideas for upcoming stuff are concerned, I could imagine some generic-looking medieval towers or small castle ruins that could be used to add a "finishing touch" to hilltops.

Something like this , this, or this. They could sit on a rather compact lot (or even be used as buildings that overhang an invisible core lot) so they wouldn't require a huge flat surface. Players could use stuff like the RRP draggable paths to create a realistic access. Unlike huge castles or complex modular sets, such towers would be an easy way to add some visual interest to otherwise unspectacular landscapes, but precisely this subtlety could make them very convincing.

Come to think of it, I remember PEG's "One Flag - Many Nations" mod that allows players to place a flagpole somewhere and select the flag they prefer. Imagine a lovely valley surrounded by forested hills, and perched on top of one of those hills an old tower with the flag of your (Sim-)Nation flying in the breeze...

Just an idea, of course. Whatever you are up to, I'm already looking forward to it!

Actually, making a folly seems like a pretty cool idea. Expect to see one on here in a few days.

Wow! I think it looks nice.I do like the fact that it fits perfectly in the circle.....maybe use is as a roundabout.=)

I just saw it on the STEX - amazing job! I might make a transparent lot for it for personal use, but that's not supposed to mean that the lot you made is bad. As for the BAT, it's really superb. Reminds me of a trip through England and Wales...

Do you have a program like Photoshop, or the GIMP (if you don't have Photoshop you can download the gimp for free, just search google).

I'm sorry, I was asking because I had some advice to give but didn't know if you had an image editing program, and of course I never came back and actually gave the advice I was planning to! 

I think that textures on Octagonal Tower are too noisy/grainy, and it makes the BAT grainly looking, and it also makes it harder to read the forms and shapes (the textures sort of make some of it jumble together).  I think there were details that you modeled that got lost amongst the texture.  But that was almost a month ago, lol
