Scammed by STEX DVD

I purchased the Stex vol 1 and 2 thru Paypal around 3 weeks ago.

I got a confirmation that 45 USD had been sent from Paypal.

2 weeks later I had nothing, so on monday I sent an email regarding my order.

To my suprise they havent answered me yet...

Did they stop producing DVDs or what?

I'm not sure about STEX vol. 1, I think that's no longer in production.

Regarding STEX disc 2, there have been reports of unusually long delivery times.

If you have been waiting a while for your discs, I can understand that you are worried, and yes, $45 is a lot to spend without quickly getting something tangible in return. That said, just a general note to anyone who is experiencing problems:

1) I can assure you that dirk takes donations very seriously, and he doesn't want anybody to be left without their DVD's. If there are problems, either PM him or send an email to dirktator (at) simtropolis.com. He might take a while to reply, as he is a busy guy, but the problem WILL be resolved.

2) I have at some point ordered all of the CD/DVD collections, and they have taken up to 3.5 weeks to reach me, and I live only a few hundred miles away from where the DVD's are sent from. This isn't a complaint, I'm just pointing out that various issues such as international shipping, production delays, or real-life problems can slow things down. Despite this, my discs have ALWAYS come.

I've been thinking about ordering them, can somebody tell me that has them....

1. Are they physically on the DVD?

I ask because some other sites that give a dvd for a donation (I think it was a Sims site) sent a cd or dvd and all it was, was a custom browser that allowed me access to I guess hidden parts of their sites where I still had to take the time to physically download the content instead of copying it off of the disk.

2. In what format are the files stored on the disks?

Are they in installers like what SC4D uses (which I absolutely hate due to 99% of them forcing me to open their readme file, and way too many clicks to install, or are they in compressed files like they are stored in the STEX or are they in loose files where I can just copy over from the DVD to the plugins folder in one fell swoop?

I don't know that I can donate this month as I just paid off the chemotherapy bill for my dog and it's left me absolutely flat broke (not even a credit card with a dollar left on it, and a bank account that now says 0.00 balance) but perhaps next month or a couple months down the line when bank account and or charger plates stop puking from all the activity they saw the past week in chemo bills.

Of course with the download speeds of the STEX as of late (almost down to dialup speeds, sometimes less than dialup speeds), it might be worth getting a third job to donate some dinks to the site.  What's up with this?

Yeah, the files are on the DVD itself, which means that you'll be able to get the files straight from the DVD, instead of needing to download them from the STEX. If the STEX is slow and there are a lot of plugins that you want, the DVDs might be helpful.

I think most are .zips with SC4 related file types inside of them, while some are .zips with installers inside, just like the STEX. It's almost literally as if you took the best of the STEX and burned it to a DVD.
