Someone Needs To Create A Better Version And Non Crashable Version For NAM!

NAM added a newly and improved transit system in SC4. 1 Problem, it crashes. The NAM could fix this, if they put time and effort, its great and all, but they need to do somthing, because if they want to make a fun mod, then they need to fix this problem, i dont care it there is not update till 2011, as long as the bugs are gone. with the crashing, its not much fun.

Yeah, of course. . . have you ever thought that the crashes are caused by problems on your end, with the exception of the Transit Enabled Lot and puzzle piece exception error, which is a problem involving the coding of the game that could only be fixed by the game developers, whom by the way really do not even support this game anymore?

Agreed, if you dont know what your getting into dont say it. I did a bit of scripting for SA-MP but thats a different story. 

If Dirk were to ask EA Games today (Write them) if they could unlock the scripting so we could mess around with it MAYBE EA would condsidor it -> They allowed Tiberian Sun to be free apperently (10 years old).

The NAM team runs beta test on everything before it is released, so if you have problems with it, check you custom content for faulty, or conflicting items.

There is a known bug in the game, if you hover a puzzle piece over a transit enabled lot, it will immediately crash the game.  There are a couple of solution, read some of the topics on the issue in the Modding Transit Networks forum.  It is discussed many times in the topics in that forum.

Have you thought of that another plugin could cause the game to crash?

Move every plugin out of your Plugins folder, start the game and see if the game is still crashing. If so, the NAM didn't cause the crash. If not, try to play the game with only the NAM in you plugins-folder and see what happens. If the game still doesn't crash, try to add more and more plugins until the game starts to crash. The last plugin you added then should probably the problem.

My experience is that the game never crashes unless you use a bad plugin (which the NAM team can't control), or you run into the TE lot hover bug (which we have no power to fix).  Well-designed transit stations have been made to minimize the chances of this bug's occurring (and it won't occur at all for many of them), but it's impossible to eliminate it completely.  Meanwhile, if you're careful never to pass a puzzle piece over a transit station, you should eliminate a lot of crashes.  Also, if you're going to be placing a number of new puzzle pieces where there are transit stations nearby, it's good to save your game first.

 I can safely say that 99.99% of crashes are beyond the NAM Team's control. (IE the user puzzle piece- TE lot CTD issue)

I've been using the NAM since 2008, and the only crashes I've ever experienced are from the TE lot issue. And I have used every single NAM piece extensively. Never to my knowledge have I had a crash from it. And if you look around, especially at the long time players, the NAM rarely, if not ever, poses any issues for them (aside from stuff like missing features, which we're working on (ie double height maxis highway))

Also, be sure to have your game patched to EP1 and preferably the BAT Nightlight patch as well. Second, ensure you do not have conflicting files (ie non-NAM-patible items, usually the pre-NAM stuff or outdated NAM Controllers). Thirdly, if you have multi-core CPU's, be sure to have the affinity set to use only one CPU.

Though I can sum this up in one sentance: The NAM itself does not cause crashes when used normally. Most, if not all crashes are because of the end user, usually for what was stated above.

I just installed NAM, and really like all the new addd-ons in it. And since I had no transit plug-ins what so ever, I think I will have the least amount of trouble. Thanks to the creator for making the mod. Now if I could just figure out how to make a raodway tunnel, and be able to grow buildings on top of it.
