You have a very large airport! It must be able to serve at least several million a day.

And I see you too are preparing for the arrival of the new plane. 2.gif

Congratulations on joining the union. 9.gif We're happy to have another member state under the banner of the blue planet.

And I really enjoyed reading the news article on the story, it made for a really good read.

CHR--I know what you mean, that airport took constant work for almost a week, and it is not totally complete. The runways are made two ways the orthogonal ones are made with RMIP Concrete runways, and the diagonal ones are made using taxiway pieces.

feliwi--Thank you. The goal right there was to divide the terminal based on airline. However, I definitely will do leave some empty next time. I just didn't think of it when I was making that terminal.

    Simtropolis Forums

ComputerGuy890100--Thank you! Yes, I am planning for the AFDES, and my own, supersonic airliners. 2.gif

Archean--I may actually try figuring the exact number one day. And, yes planning is in place for the future.

Blue Lightning--Thank you. And I placed those because I'm designing my own supersonic jet.

    mayorbk--Thank you.

Archean2 --Thank you. I am glad to be in the AFDES. And it's nice to hear that people read those stories I writ for the newspaper.

ComputerGuy8901002--Thank you. It is great to be in the AFDES.

TmiguelT--Thank you. The airport is definitely one of the bigger projects I've ever done.

    Mayorm--Thank you.

Worthington Pass and Meyers Rock State Park (Carter Island)

Alert--Next week I may not post an update on Monday due final exams. There will be an update next week it may just be late.

Okay, today is a special two-for-one. Granted, Meyers Rock State Park has only a couple of pictures right now. Worthington Pass is a nearby town with a population of 13500 SC4 (5000 adjusted). Also of note is that this my first use of RHW.

I just now realized just how detailed that region is. The terraforming and flora is magnificent. 9.gif

And i like the small town too! That school makes me want to go inside and explore the campus.

That was amazing work! I love the scenic and suburban qualities of the area! The RHW-2 is nice too! Maybe you should expand it into a RHW-4 at Meyers Point using the "Wide Curve" pieces.

Archean--Thank you. It has been a while since I made a small town.

ComputerGuy890100--Thank you. This one of my first uses of RHW. Also, it was hard enough to get the RHW-2 to work there I don't want to try RHW-4 there.

Duke87--Nah... its just in the middle of the Pacific, and it was very hard to find.

    King River (Ford Valley)

As expected, this update it a little late. The next one may be a little late as well. Final exams are still in progress so I don't know when I will get the next update done.

If you don't remember Ford Valley being introduced, well, you're right. This is the NHP Invermere Lake map.

They look gorgeous, great work with the nature side of the CJ coin. 9.gif

Simtropolis City Journals Section 13orthr- I'm a bit confused. Do you mean the last picture or the one before that? I personally like the rocks in the second to last one, though, I do think the last picture is a little unnatural.

CTMandR- As it is not my map, I cannot take full credit for those. Most of the credit goes to beskhu3epnm and JPlumbley. Thanks, though.

k50dude- Again I cannot take full credit, but thanks.

Daan300- Thanks. The rocks, besides aesthetics, are actually being used to hide some areas where the ploppable water wouldn't go.

Simtropolis Forum Schulmanator- Thanks. I'm glad it turned out as well as it did.

ComputerGuy890100-Thanks for the suggestion, though for that update I was more concerned with the river.

Blue Lightning- Thanks. The RHW is going to take a while to get used to.

TmiguelT-Thanks. The waterfalls were by far the easiest part of creating that river.

Duke87- That would be correct. I had no idea that song existed.

    jacqulina- Thank you.

    Benedict- Thank you.

Archean- Ahh.. land bridging is an art. That particular bridge is perfect for making land bridges, though.

    Welcome Back

Welcome back to Iris. I apologize for the extended break, and feel I should mention that I have, at least for the forseeable future, limited this journal to the region of Aquarius. This is because the starting of regions led to a creative block that contributed to the break. As you will see I have a good start on Aquarius and should be able to develop the region fairly quickly now.

    AqariusBreak-Update.jpg

Aquarius Break is an inner suburb of Aquarius. This city has population of 81,000 sims. I used the Maxis Highway for its compact footprint.

    Guibanez_--Thank you!

JGellock--Thanks. Roe's library was a no-brainer. I knew i would look good in there. The mall, on the other hand, has been replaced.

    DCMetro34--Thank you!

froelich131--I have relocated the mall. I agreed with your assessment. Thank you for the suggestion.

Simtropolis Forums kj3400-- Yes and no. Yes for the tile, no for the region. Though it has been relocated.

Archean-- Beach front property is pretty common in this region. Most of tile are coastal.  ...And even bigger cities are coming.10.gif

TmiguelT-- Thanks. Getting the correct amount of green space is one of my goals.

Benedict-- Thank you. The trees are kind of obligatory for a tropical feel.

Before we begin, I would like to show the area where Gordon Valley Mall used to be.

    AquariusBreakR-GordonValley.jpg

A new mall has been constructed elsewhere in the region. Thanks to froelich131for the suggestion.

IrvingTwoSmokes--Thank you. The water mod is one of PEG's (Not sure which one) and the terrain mod is Heblem's Yucatan Terrain Mod. Both are available on the STEX.

sumwonyuno--When I selected this map I actually looked at Honolulu as a reference, so thank you. Also, slope mods make knowing where to zone a lot easier in those valleys.

Muck308--Thank you. I will be adding Marinas and other ports, but the areas I have shown thus far were to steep to support any type boating areas.

    Simtropolis Forums

Benedict--Surprisingly, traffic is not too bad, except at neighbor connections, with that road layout. I forget which NAM controller I have installed.

    Programming Notes

    1. I may be slightly late with the next update as I will be on vacation next Monday.
    2. Newspapers will be making a return in the near future.
    3. Somtime next week I will be posting a question for the readers to vote on. Watch this space for more.
    SouthAquarius-Banner.jpg

South Aquarius is a district in the city of Aquarius. It is home to Aquarius University (not pictured as it is incomplete) as well as the southernmost portions of Downtown Aquarius. This city has a population of approximately 330,000 sims. For reference here is a region view. BTW, this is now my largest region ever.

    Regionview.jpg

We start the nighttime tour at the Gateway Junction, so named because it splits into two highways that encircle the city of Aquarius.

    SouthAquarius-Junction.jpg

South of I-3 we find some suburban homes.

    SouthAquarius-RoseCliff.jpg

If we head north on I-201 we hit the waterfront commercial district, famous for the Verne and Seaside Casinos.

    SouthAquarius-SouthsideCasinos.jpg

To the east of the highway we find Summer Hill, an upscale residential neighborhood.

    SouthAquarius-SummerHill.jpg

Continuing north on I-201 we find a collection of civic buildings that have earned the area the nickname of Civic Plaza

    SouthAquarius-CivicsPlaza.jpg

    Finally, we hit downtown.SouthAquarius-Nightfall.jpg

Hunter Avenue is one of the busier roads through downtown.

    SouthAquarius-HunterAve.jpg

We have reached the end of the city tile, but not the end of downtown.

    SouthAquarius-DowntownNightlife.jpg

    A view from the sea.

    SouthAquarius-CoastalSkyline.jpg

The final (finished) point of note in South Aquarius is Aquarius Park, the largest urban park in the region (so far).

SouthAquarius-AquariusPark.jpgPlease not that Aquarius University is still under construction and will be featured in a future update.

That is all for now. As always comments, criticisms, and suggestions are welcomed.
