I have noticed that when I delete a cities and then start a new city with the same map, the previous trades are still there and have to be deleted manually.  Is this typical or is it a glitch with my installation?  It is tedious to have to remove all the trades before I start to develop the new city.

It is typical and is often used to make more money in the beginning.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

The region remembers all the city settings and they are contained in the save file structure in SC4. It will right itself only after you have loaded and saved each of the cities around the deleted city. They will eventually correct themselves when you have loaded all cities involved then saved. You may cancel it manually or not worry about it as you carry on your city building. Eventually it will resolve

Do not mind SC4BOY, he is talking about SimCity 4. CitiesXL also remembers trades in both Solo Play and Planet Offer. It was even that way in the demo.

I have problems with deleting the cities - when I delete one, it still remains on the map as a green dot. I post two support ticket with no reply at all. So I just wrote a small script which delete files for the cities in the profile directory.

When I start a new city after deleting the old one, I start off with a huge negative cash flow. That's why I was deleting the trades manually. Besides, it doesn't seem "real" to keep the trades for a city that no longer exists.
