I have received this PM from BarbyW

Hi Meg

I have some sad news. I'm not sure if you remember Marcello Brandao - suico - who was the webmaster for the original SimcityBrasil site. I was alarmed when I noticed his MSNM status had been changed to IN MEMORIAM WITH LOVE  HIS FAMILY. Colyn saw it too and asked me about it. I left a message for Isabella - Lilith - who had also seen the status but had no further information. She called me this morning to tell me that Marcello had been taken very ill and had died last Saturday. The MSNM window has been left open for anyone to leave messages for his widow and family so if anyone has his MSNM contact please feel free to leave a message. It has come as a great shock to everyone. Perhaps you could pass this on the other Admins and if anyone wants to leave a message but doesn't have the MSNM contact, they can send it to me and I will post it to the MSNM window.

Barby

I found an article here.

I did not know suico well but PMed Barby to pass along my condolences.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

This is sad indeed...

I used to talk to him, and he was a great mentor in my early days of BATting, and he kindly modded some of my first releases. But we lost contact after a few years though.

It's unbeleiveable how this could happen though, i thought he was healthy. I guess you can get quite the wrong impression on the net, you don't get to know such things... but either way

May you rest in peace Marcello.

This is so sad 15.gif

I didn't know him very well, I've used some of his creations in my city, but never stood in personal contact with him. I'm with what Glenni said... we can't know everything about what's going on in someone's real life. I don't know if he was sick very long, or if it was acute, but I hope he didn't have to suffer too long. My thoughts are with his friends and family.

Gosh on the photo he seems too young to die. It's almost surreal. May he rest in peace!

- Phil

Oh no, cancer has claimed another victim. 15.gif I thought he had merely stepped back from our community, and now I read these sad news. I've never been in closer personal contact with him, but from what I saw and read, he has always been frindly and helpful, and he used to be the driving force behind SimCityBrasil. Of course, the loss for our community is nothing compared to the loss his friends and relatives had to suffer... Rest in Peace, Marcello! 8.gif You will not be forgotten.

When I read suico was dead I was shocked. There are a lot of Sc4 players and creators you dont know, if you had contact loose them. I never had contact with suico but as Phil loved his creation. AFAIK he was the first one who made fences for rural layouts and his copacabana beach is still my nr 1. in the rare cases where I do a beach layout.

Requiescat in Pace, I hope you have a better live whereever you are, and my condolences to his wife, famile and friends.

Bernhard

Although we didn't have that much personal contact, I remember Marcello very well from the good old SimCityBrasil times, as he basically did the same for the Brazilian SC4 community than what I did for the German community, so we also shared a very similar CML. My condolences go to Marcello's family and friends.

I don't know why this forum system does not allow me to post my words about Marcello.
A have made a translation of my post on simcitybrasil and tried to translate and post here but It's impossible.
bugs bugs bugs.,..
Anyway, if someone wants to translate ( or undesrtand Portuguese) you can find our tribute to him on our community here : http://www.simcitybrasil.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1649&p=38064#p38064

I'm very sorry. I really would like to say much more about Marcello, but I don't know why this system does not allow me...

Anyway, Marcello was our mentor and we hope he is in peace now.

One of the great creators who have uploaded here. Took a look through his STEX uploads, and he had at least four that were consistent staples to my cities.

May he rest in peace.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

May he rest in peace, although I was not able to meet him here. Based on your comments, I know he was a really really good man. It is so sad to lose a member. 15.gif
