    @Schulmanator: It's probably because I had to use traffic generators to achieve that effect....

    @UndercoverNinja12: Which ones?

    This update will actually be different from what I originally intended. The interchange I was going to showcase is still not complete, so we'll sidetrack and take a look at a significant extension of the Westport Underground that is underway. To start off, here's a view of Westport with the Underground's lines highlighted. We'll be focusing on the light orange section.

    westportundergroundextension1.jpg

    Basically, what this project is is that Line 1 will be extended from it's current terminus at SW 4th Street/Jennith Blvd(On the pic, where the green and magenta lines cross, the orange line is a parallel track to the green line). across the river, where it will connect up with another branch of Line 4 at Castleton and will later be extended further to Mountain Island. The purpose of this project is to make it easier for Mountain Island commuters to access Downtown Westport(Before, one had to take the magenta line to the red or blue lines) and relieve the other line during rush hours.

    Here's a small panorama of where the bridge will go. Notice track has been laid out on both sides for the construction.

    westportundergroundextension2.jpg

    Close up of the Future Bedford Ave/Havenspire station(It will go in the empty grass lot); across from the station, the line will dive underground to meet the existing connection:

    westportundergroundextension3.jpg

    And finally, a map of the line and it's extension plans:

    Hope you enjoyed this update, and see you next time!

    The first & third pics, el rail and GLR stations, respectively. :P

    And nice job with that transit map, I keep telling myself I'm going to make some of my cities, eventually. ;)

    @UndercoverNinja12: The first one is Memorial Drive Station, while the GLR station is Thurgburn Station.

    Well, with the bridge complete, who doesn't want to see the final product!

    This really looks wonderful :). You should add a plugin called Maxis tree replacement, and SFBT street tree mod, and Replace Maxis Palms. I think a way to make cities nice is to have nice looking trees, or beautiful nature scenery  :D

    @simcityplayer15: I'll look into those in the near future....

    So the update that I promised 3 weeks ago, is now here!

    You are looking at the UC's newest Highway interchange. Here, Hwy 455 splits off from Municipal Highway 81 and forms a half-beltway around Boston. Originally, this was going to be a simple trumpet, but there were weaving issues with the avenue and I wanted something better looking than a generic interchange(Also, i designed it like this to get all the connections I wanted)

    Be sure to click for full resolution!

    Nice use of the RHW!  That south to west loop connection looks a bit hairy but you probably don't have enough space to fit in a slip ramp between the overpasses and the mainline lane drop along the secondary ramp to the avenue.

    Not bad, not bad at all! Nice and complex and a good use of the RHW pieces, good job!

    Here's a suggestion, and I'm not sure about the space available, but it looks like you could get that 270 degree entrance loop up and onto the 90 degree turn next to it before it passes over the main highway so the merge is before the bridge, which would save you some space in the top right of the image to get that exit sliproad that leads to the 180 loop and avenue in closer to the junction.

    Considering the complexity of two closely spaced junctions though I really like it!  :D

    Yes, not bad with that interchange, but if I can give you some advices, I will talk about the trees, I think you should be using another trees, now we've a great collection of HD trees created by Girafe, Simfox, etc... try with them and I'm sure that your interchange will look even better.

    @sargeantcm: Hmmm if you don't mind, a picture of what your suggestion is could help....

    @Titanicbluff: Thanks!

    @UnderCoverNinja12: Thanks!
    @Map Guy: I could try that, but again space is kinda at a premium in this section of the region....

    @mattmontgomer16: Thanks!

    @kelistmac: In the long-term, i'll look into changing that...

    @Benedict: Thanks! And I have more updates on the way!

    If I have bored a lot of you out, I must apologize, but lately I have distracted by SimCity 2013, SimCity 3000, and (Yes, that's correct) watching Colbert Nation. Today though, I have an update. This will kind of be an extension of the previous update, in that we will head northbound from the interchange and see what lies beyond, on a section known as the Mackham Expressway

    For a while, the expressway borders the oceanside, with spectacular views

    mackham1.jpg

    Another 2 miles north and it curves to the NW. This section of the island is mainly agricultural, but does anyone want to stop at the corner store for a drink?

    mackham2.jpg

    We arrive at the interchange with Highway 22, where the expressway continues to the naval base. Previously, this is where 22 curved from westbound to northbound, but that was changed with the expressway construction

    mackham3.jpgHope you enjoyed this update, happy holidays to everyone on ST, and see you next time!

    Even with some pluggins and downloaded stuff, most of the city is classic Simcity style pushed to its limits (like the perfection of the mountains and the water). I love it :thumb:

    Unfortuneality, a Timbucktuian submarine sunk the crusie liner Liberation on Feburary 19,2753: out of the 4213 on board, only 385 survived.

    in the real world... there's a submarine (called u-boats in the early years). sunk a ocean liner in 1915. i don't know what the name of the ocean liner... but. keep up the good work!!!

    Yes, that's right folks! The Catcomm Soccer Stadium! And it needs a replacement, as it's old, sometimes packed, and doesn't have good appeal. But first, let's say bye-bye! after the last game is over....

    And this is it! Who's ready for the first game?

    @Benedict: Woo-Hoo! Yeah!

    For today's update, this will be part 1 of a two-part update of a significant expansion of the Westport Underground. Currently, branch 1 of Line 2 ends with a short stub station at Waterfront Drive(Left station in the photo). The project entitles that that station would be deleted, a new station built next to Highway 24, the area to be redeveloped, and the line rerouted to follow the Bedford Ave corridor, with two new stations, one of which would intersect Line 4 at it's existing station. From there, this lays the foundation for future expansion\

    westportundergroundextension4.jpg(Ignore the abandoned buildings; i'll take care of that later)

    The new station is complete and the old one and it's line abandoned; construction of the new line begins

    westportundergroundextension5.jpg

    (Whoops, forgot to turn off zones.....)

    New section completed, although there is still a lot of work to do....

    westportundergroundextension6.jpg

    Further south, you can see the site of the intersecting station with Line 4.

    westportundergroundextension7.jpg

    Next time, we'll take a tour of the whole finished line, as well as a updated map of the Westport Underground!

    Hope you enjoyed this update, and see you next time!

    For today's update, the long-awaited tour of the Line 2 Extension!

    To start off, new Westport Underground Map, for reference(As always, click for full!)

    westportunderground2.png

    We'll start off at Ashford Street/Bruckner, the first new station on this route; Hwy 24 can be seen on the right

    westportundergroundline2-1.jpg

    Going down the line, we arrive at Bedford/Melton; a Line 4 train heading to Waterfront/N Barry Street can be seen leaving the station. I had to make this a subway stop because the el-rail doesn't love the GLR passing under it, apparently....

    westportundergroundline2-2.jpg

    Next up is Gallery Center station. Note that the at-grade connection with the off-ramp was due to limited room; in the future this section may be converted into subway as well....

    westportundergroundline2-3.jpg

    Moving from Westport to Tuscaroa, SW Bakner Parkway is our next stop...

    westportundergroundline2-4.jpg

    And as a grand finale, the Kalvin Road/Zoo station, which serves the Tuscarora Art Museum and the Westport Zoo

    westportundergroundline2-5.jpg

    Hope you enjoyed this update, and see you next time!

    Good pics Nathan!! :thumb:

    Suggestion:

    To make the GLR under ELR, place first the station, then the overpass puzzle piece, then extend the ELR to the station and drag the road between them. ;)

    Dont't you like the SFBT Sub-GLR transition? It blends more.
