    Algis242: Thanks for your comment!

kakado_to_save: Thank you for your comment, glad you love it!

ComputerGuy890100: Thanks for commenting! "Nice" isn't the word I would describe this CJ with...

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I guess I should apologize because the last week I absolutely forgot I hadn't updated this CJ on the forums! As a result, you'll see six pics today...

    nuevobannerok.jpg

As the regulars know, every update tries to follow a kind of "storyline" this won't because I don't know where to fit the following pics. I guess I'm not specially inspired today.

    53815181.jpg

Stations and power lines, nothing strange here; but I just like how the pic looks. From now on, all pics size will be this one.

    elcentro4en.jpg

Even though I'm not a big fan of basketball, I know how Eastern European arenas become a "hell" when the important games are played there. The Gazprom Arena is a good example of it. Normally dull and grey, is a good example of how crazy fans can become "the 6th man" during a game.

    82600311.jpg

Gasometers. Once they've become obsolete; cities have given them different usages. Ones are landmarks, others have been reconverted to arenas or shopping centers. Krasnoslobodsk's ones are a good place to hide all kinds of illegal stuff...

And the pics from my penultimate update, called "Cranes".

Cranes are a quite usual sight in Krasnoslobodsk. Where there's a crane, there's activity. Somebody is loading or unloading something, somebody is building one more tenements block or somebody is demolishing something.

    92077461.jpg

Prefabricated buildings like this (usually known as "prefabs") need very few materials and are built very quicly virtually everywhere. You only need a crane, some plaster and a bunch of underpaid workers. Usually, the most expensive thing is to hire the cranes.

    51674642.jpg

But the place where cranes (and rusty steel sheets) are the kings is Krasnoslobodsk's seaport. The old part of the port has no cranes, but instead, the boats and barges have their own ones.

    44225544.jpg

On the other hand, the "modern" (built during the 60's, when the city was prosperous) has plenty of cranes which can be seen from a long distance. Don't be fooled about the trademarks painted on the containers. Most of them contain weapons and ammunition to be sold later.

Click on the two last pics to see them in full resolution! From now on, they'll all be like this!

    Great pictures.

I'm Lithuanian myself (it's not East Europe like everyone say) and I know what you mean by saying "hell". When Vilniaus "Lietuvos Rytas" and Kauno "Žalgiris" are playing, the arena becomes a battleground. Everyone in the crowd are saying stuff "Your team sucks, our team is better". The other side replies the same. Sometimes they're a inch away from starting a riot. After Lithuania won European Basketball championship back in 2003, Vilnius looked beautiful the next day: Traffic lights torn down, bus stops completely ruined, telephone booths smashed, glass windows smashed in the news stands. I also saw that night on TV that fans in the center of Vilnius manage to flip over 1-2 taxi cars.

Benedict: Thank you for your comment, glad you liked it!

Nathanthemayor: Thank you for commenting! This is my first custom seaport ever!

Algis242: Thanks for your comment! I was inspired by this action for the arena pic. I could never support violence, but I think that this kind of ambient (without the violent part) is so great to watch to and so helpful for local players... I've always envied this kind of attitude.

    Kakado_to_save: Thank you for commenting!

    Packersfan: Thanks for your comment!

Wwetom1: Thank you for your comment! As I said to Nathan, this is my first try at building serious seaports...

Some hours after having posted the CJ section update, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid have played, game drawn 1-1. We'll see in the Cup game!

You know I like very much the "commuting" updates. And here's one, but with the usual three pics.

Our trip begins in one of the worst places in Kransoslobodsk. There are some really bad (District 14, for example), but this is the worst.

    61511154.jpg

This is a dilapidated, polluted and poor place and you may say it's the same as the rest of Krasnoslobodsk suburbs, but you'd be wrong. The other districts have at least an school and a hospital nearby; this one, has no school and no hospital nearby. The whole place has become a hole of corruption, drug use and crime. But as in every place, still someone keeps having a job and keeps commuting to it every day.

    23526083.jpg

It is a short commute, but still no workers aren't as brave to go to their jobs by walk. This railyard area is a common sight in this neighbourhood. There are no graffiti painted in the boxcars just because people can't afford to buy paint sprays; and they aren't sober enough to go to steal some.

    gcfgc.jpg

We reach our destination in a few minutes. In a dead end of Krasnoslobodsk's port canal system, you can find an small shipyard that saw its glory years a long time ago. It used to be an stategic facility for The Goverment, but nowadays it only builds low-end bulkers and barges.

    -------------------------------------------

    nuevobannerok.jpg

Inspired by so many football, we'll see today an sporty update. We'll take a look to the stadiums and arenas home to most popular sports clubs in Krasnoslobodsk.

During the Soviet era, the Voluntary Sports Societies were the establishments that ruled all the physical education program, to keep citizens fit and provide the best facilities for elite sportsmen and sportswomen, who would have a huge success in the Summer and Winter Olympics. If you want, you can get more info here [link].

Some of this sports societies, have been present in Krasnoslobodsk, and evolved during the communist and post-communist era to what they look today. The most important surviving sports societies in Krasnoslobodsk are the CSKA, Dynamo, Metallurg and Lokomotiv societies.

    CSKA Krasnoslobodsk

    logocska.jpg

    cskaletras.jpg

CSKA is now the former volunteer sports society from the Soviet Army. This club has been the most successful club in Krasnoslobodsk's history, but nowadays it is financially struggling. Nevertheless, among its fanbase, we still can find the wealthier people in Krasnoslobodsk, the upper-class citizens and a good part of the Goverment (the team, is frequently nicknamed as "the Millionaires"). Its field, the Krasnoslobodsk Army Stadion, has been the largest one in the nation until the Lokomotiv Stadion was built.

    FC Lokomotiv Krasnoslobodsk

    logolokomotiv.jpg

    lokomotivletras.jpg

The Lokomotiv Sports Society, was an extension of rail transport Trade Union, and it united workers of rail transport, transport contstruction and Metro workers. Their heritage still can be felt in the club logo and nickname ("the Railroaders"). In Krasnoslobodsk, the FC Lokomotiv has always had a large fanbase, made mainly from workers and low-class citizens; this has made that the rivalry with CSKA has been fierce from its beginnings. Its field, the Lokomotiv Stadion, was built in 2004 and, with a capacity of 54,500, is now the largest stadium in the nation.

    FC Metallurg Krasnoslobodsk

    logometallurg.jpg

    metallurgletras.jpg

The Metallurg Sports Society was founded like the Lokomotiv Society, but Metallurg united all the existing steelworkers trade unions. This club saw its glory years 40 years ago, nowadays it is a second division club with a very small fanbase who still look at their 1964 and 1965 League Championship cups. Its field, the Metallurg Stadion (capacity 35,303 spectators), designed like a traditional English field, is now old and rusty; and the club cannot fix this problems because it cannot barely pay the footballers wages.

    Dynamo Krasnoslobodsk

    logodynamo.jpg

    dynamoletras.jpg

The Dynamo Sports Society has never had an strong football club; but they have won 25 national basketball championships in the last 30 years. This supremacy, has leaded the Dynamo to be considered the de-facto basketball team in the city, with a large fanbase with CSKA and Lokomotiv football fans. Its arena (known as "Palace of Sports" during the soviet era) is falling to pieces and leaks through the roof are a constant since the 20th century.

Wwetom1: Thank you for commenting! They're not exactly the same type of stadiums you show in your CJ, but glad you like them!

    Algis242: Thanks for your comment!

9988: Thank you for your comment!

Schulmanator: Thank you for commenting! BTW, I almost crashed my car looking for a "different" feature in my local McDonald's while driving!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been a busy week again, the 17th ISC Session [link] organization took longer than expected and haven't been much time to play SC4 lately. Furthermore, I feel I'm lacking ideas, so I guess that I won't update once a week as I've been doing until now. This doesn't mean this CJ is on hold, but don't be "scared" if I can't provide a weekly update.

    nuevobannerok.jpg

No rust today. If you're looking for your SC4 rust dose, I recommend you taking a look to some brilliant CJs started recently: penguin1364's Soviet Rust [link] and 2b2gbi's latest updates on his CJ [link].

We'll take a look to The Beehive, one of the most hated structures in Krasnoslobodsk. It's not hated by its look or for its placement. It's hated because of those who dwell it.

The New Krasnoslobodsk Apartment Complex, popularly known as "The Beehive" is one of the tallest structures in the city, placed just in the border between the pre-1990 and the post-1990 districts. Its lot was once occupied by an abandoned luxury hotel, which was torn down in 2002 among citizens protests (the only ones brave enough to publicly say their opinion).

    mosaicou.jpg

The Beehive is one of the favourite places to live for the rich and wealthy here; for those who work on the new shiny glass skyscrapers and drive expensive BMWs. Here, the new elites of Krasnoslobodsk rule the country as an arm of the Goverment. But they know that, nowadays, the Goverment is simply their arm.

In The Beehive, unlike many other apartment complexes, everybody know each other. The CEO of GazKras, the owner of that rusty smelter, the owners of these luxury boutiques in the city center... They're now the Goverment, and watch their concrete dominions from the 27th floor holding a cup of vodka.

Making those people who live in those prefabs blocks stare and be shaded by those high-rises, that glitter and have some color, is cruel XDD

If i "were" to live there, I'd be on the bottom few floors. I wouldn't dare live anywhere higher where it required an elevator. Those things scare the crap out of me. But the building's themselves are awesome!

Those poor neighbors must dread the sight every day though.

Archean: Thank you for your comment! Virtually all bixel's creations are awesome, but this one is through the roof! As for your problem with elevators, I can't allow myself to have it, because I live in a 6th floor and I have a tough time when the elevator is out of order...

Schulmanator: Thanks for commenting, I LOLed for a while!

Mikeaut1: Thank you for your comment!

Not a regular update, just a teaser to see what you think and to see if you guys can recommend me BATs apart of marcszar's and jumpthefence's ones! I still don't know which will be the style of the next update (east or west) but I'll try to figure it out...

Kusajika Kachiru: Thank you for commenting! No, I haven't grown those... as most of the stuff you see here, they've been plopped. Some time ago I realized I was more interested in the aesthetics than in the gameplay...

Finally back to T&R! It's been some busy weeks and I've been working (in my free time) in some new stuff. I teased you all with some ideas I had on mind and I've developed them in a way that I feel they concentrate the best aspects that in my opinion we've seen here.

Let's take a brief look to the City of Rankine, NY.

    69794497.jpg

Rankine is situated in north NYC, althought can't remember exactly where it is. It was first an industrial city, and the city expansion made a lot of population to move here during the 50's and the 60's.

    16051323.jpg

    rankineestates.jpg

The subway is one of the few things that work properly here, as it doesn't depend on Rankine. Subway services 2, 5 and 6 stop here, and stations are clogged every morning with commuters waiting for their train to go "to City".

    24725902.jpg

The school, the only one in the whole City of Rankine, is placed in front of the church. You don't see much people during Sunday's masses in the church and you don't see much kids during weekdays at school
