    ryanb_sc4: Brazil
    AJHAINC: Columbia
    justanothersim86: Brazil
    sovietpower91: Brazil
The Boy Formerly Known As Evil Muzz: United States
    hello_sc4: Brazil
    AEwilly17: Columbia

And the answer is --- Brazil!

Moving on to the next round is Muzz (1 wrong) sovietpower, hello_sc4, and ryanb_sc4 (1 wrong). Apologies to all our other contestants, we'll be taking a short break before we move on to U.S. Geography, with the same format as before - two with choices, two without choices, one group question. We'll keep on this scheme, switching topics every 5 questions, until we're down to two. Then the slate will be wiped for those two and we'll do a run-off.

Well I'm confused too, because I only denoted 1 wrong on muzz and ryan. In other words, you and hello need to get two wrong to be out. Muzz and ryan only need one.

    Congratulations to everyone!

Okay, I'm better at World Geography than at US Geography, but I'll still do my best. How long will this short break last though? I'll have very limited amounts of time on the internet until Saturday afternoon (GMT +2), so I hope I won't miss one of the questions...

Just a quick question, do wrong answers get carried over into every round? I got one question wrong so will it be reset for the next round or will I still only need 1 wrong to be put out? Also, I will be away most of tomorrow and most of Tuesday...
    quote>

Tis indeed a good question, and something that I have pondered. My eventual conclusion has been:

Reset when there are two left
Reset when we move to round 4

So wrong answers will be carried into this round and the next (physical geography). After that there will be a reset and wrong answers throughout the human geography section (rounds 4+) will carry over into all subsequent rounds until there are only two left. If there are only two left before the start of round 4 then there will be a reset for those two as well.

A brief amendment to the rules: there will be now a 48-hour grace period for all questions except for the general question, which there will be only a 24-hour one for. So in essence you now will have 4 days to answer a question. New questions will be given every two days (given the time for me) and if you have more than one question outstanding and only post the answer to one, the other will be counted wrong.

Hope that was understandable! Now for the questions:

ryanb_sc4: In the southwestern United States, a region called the Sunbelt includes which state - Indiana or New Mexico?
sovietpower91: Which state borders the Atlantic Ocean - South Carlina or South Dakota?
The Boy Formerly Known As Evil Muzz: Which state borders the Gulf of Mexico - Alabama or Arizona?
hello_sc4: Which capital city lies east of the Rocky Mountains - Sacramento or Columbus?

    Have fun all!

If my memory serves me correctly, Custer was involved in a bit of a clash with several Indian tribes.

And, something in my memory remembers seeing something about Bighorn on a Montana license plate several years ago.

    Therefore - my answer is . . . . . Montana.

Mt. St. Helens is in the great state of Washington.

Speaking of toothbrushes - the TSA people working at JFK took my electric-powered toothbrush while they were checking my bag.  I was on a flight from JFK to Rochester.
