I payed already for the Limited Edition (order #721575) as well as the 3 month subscription.  I have had a TON of game crashes.  Most recently it says due to low memory, which is ridiculous, and some file save dump error.  I deleted the game, and want to try and re-install it.  Problem is, I know longer have the link to download the Limited Edition!  I have sent this info to the support@citiesxl site 3 times with no response!  How do I get in touch with the right person, or the link to re-install?

Thanks in advance!

Mike Wilson

well, if you've sent a support ticket they should answer eventually. Maybe things are moving slow around there because of the holidays.... At any rate, I don't think we can help you here.

Low memory? How much memory does your computer have? I myself have 2GB of memory and the game still runs somewhat slow on my PC.

at any rate, they should have gotten back to you by now. my support tickets took just a couple of days at most.

the problem with monte crisco's support is not answering but rather implementing. i have told them about translation fixes (really simple fixes) that have gotten overlooked for several updates now.

sure, maybe MC took a long vacation or maybe they're priorities aren't concerned with translations, but rather on that nasty memory leak or the annoying super-sensitive mouse issue.

OK. They got back to me with the link, and I re-installed it exactly like the link said! Now I cannot get the install process to finish! It has me to install it to a temp file, and AS SOON as it finishes, the files go away! I have tried 4 times with no luck! I even made a permanent folder in my C: drive for the game and had it install to it, but again, the second it finishes installing, the files go away! Seems like I only need 1 tiny little step to happen and it will work. Not sure what the problem is though! VERY frustrated at this point.

I have a great computer. 3.17ghz, 500gig HD, 4 gigs of ram. Keep it clean, and defragged etc. O after all the crashes I uninstalled the game to try a fresh start! Forgot I did not have it saved and had to go to the company to re-send the d/l files. They did. They send an email with 3 files and a free gamedownloader to use with instructions. I create a folder on my desktop, and use the downloader to install the 3 files into that folder. Took a few hours, but worked. Next step is to use the setup file in the folder for the install onto my computer. Double click it, it says it will install into a C:\temp\citiesxl file. I click next and it installs just fine! I can actually go into my C: and see the files go into said temp drive folder! The second the entire install process is over, ALL these files in the temp folder disappear! I have tried this 20 times, re-downloaded the game files (in case they were corrupt) etc. I even submitted a ticket, and they said it could be due to my Macafee software. Makes sense. I even uninstalled that and tried game again with no luck!

I am so frustrated! The game installs to completion, and than just removes the files it just installed! Is this some weird thing on my computer? The files themself? PLease help me!

    Very Respectfully,

    Mike Wilson

milehi...  It's not the game, it's your computer.

You're windows install is probably horked, and if you are using any version of Windows Vista...thats where the memory leaks are coming from.  If you have the means...consider upgrading to Windows 7, 64-bit...and those memory leaks should go away.

I have a Pentium 4 Dual Core Processor with 3GB ram, 1 GB ram vid card Nvidea Geforce 9600, 2.5GHZ. And here it works fine. But actually, the problem you got, I had to, in the beginning. I can't remember what my uncle did, but he fixed the problem. I could not install any game at all, nobody knew the answer, but 1 quick look by an expert and all was fixed. In other words: Let your computer get fixed. Defragmentation is NOT ENOUGH!

The problem was easy to fix when my buddy suggested I delete the previous cities XL file from my registry! After the the game installed just fine! It still has the random crashes, but it is playable again.
