Hello, I'm new to Simtropolis. When I first visited the forums I liked it so I decided to register and post my first Cities XL journal, ever!


New Manhattan
It's a small city at the shore with happy inhabitants,
Population: 51412 and growing.

Average Satisfaction: 75%

Skilled:          78%
Executitives: 72%
Elites:            68%

Hotels, Heavy industry, Shops and Offices 100%

Here are the first pictures 

New Manhattan as seen from sea, with the new neighbourhood at the left. The island is already full, but has plenty of space between the buildings for relaxing.

After 6 months of discussions with the building companies and the industrial district managers we had decided  to build on a highway - connecting the city to the industrial district and the agricultural fields. This was a great decision after all, as the traffic flows outstanding!

All completed. The traffic flow is much better!

We also made a decision with the building companies, as mentioned. An entire new disrict will be added! It will include High density offices, Mostly medium density buildings, and parks + leisure activities, as the citizens wished.

As a present, the Brandenburg gate has been build.

Also the merchant guild has been built!

how did you make it to 100,000 residents and have massive buildings already? Most of my 3 density buildings don't become available till 500,000, 750,000, or 1 million

You can go to the menu, options, misc. , and then click expert mode (unlock buildings) You now have all the residences and industry except the exceptional buildings

Hello, a new update has arrived!

The city is growing bit by bit and now has 155.000 inhabitants. The people are still satisfied. The Elites are giving the city a 6.7, and the Unqualified (I mean Unskilled) workes an 8.6. As the city has 150.000+ habitants we had the ability to build the Kodak Express Shop, which gives the Executitives and Elites a 1%+ Satisfaction extra!

After this update I'll take a break untill the Buses are released same as the new trading system. I'm looking forward to it, as it's getting busier on the road every day.

The new district with High rises in the back, with it's workers in the front.

Ofcourse, after a day work the people always can visit the parks, or, at saturdays, visit the cosy market.

The Highway Bridge has been replaced by a tunnel.

It's nearly dinner time in New Manhattan. Everyone is driving home towards their families to talk with eachother about the day.

Well.. I got to about 350k citizens and then the game crashed while saving everytime, and then I couldn't open it anymore. Didn't I mention that in Leopolis city journal?

Hey guys, soon I'll post some pictures of a new city named New Hattan, to replace the old city journal of New Manhattan. It'll start small and grow to a metropolis eventually. I'm going to make a backup of it, so I won't lose the city if my laptop crashes (which happened serveral times now )

Hello, and welcome to the first update of New Hattan

New Hattan is a small town founed in 1843, 120 kilometres west of Timet. It is a small fishing community
with approximately 1500 inhabitants and is now growing fast.

The highest tower is Hattan Church, which is 60 metres high. It has been build in 1903 to show
that New Hattan is a wealthy town in comparison to other small fishing communities.

The town hall is next to the church, looking towards Brandbury market. It is the cosiest place in town.

Next to the town lies Brandbury Forest. Now that New Hattan is growing, some factories have set up there.

Some buildings of the city have survived the Great Fire in 1870, and have recently been renovated.

Since 1980 New Hattan has got a small baseball team, the Hattan Flamers. They are not in the official
competition yet, but they are definately getting better.

This was update 1 of New Hattan. I hope you liked this update This city will have a very realistic look, more realistic than my others so far! I already have great ideas for the city, but first I'll have to raise the population while keeping the realistic look. This will therefor take a lot of time.

Here are some things I want to achieve with this city. Just copy the links, no viruses there.

Elevated road - especially in the districts around the CBD

Derelict riverside industry and harbors. Kind of needed if you want to make things look realistic.

hmm... your only way of making a kind of skyway would to build a stop every 1 km. Oh wait theres a tutorial on how to make a elevated road on youtube the link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_066m5yJI-M&translated=1
