Ignore undeveloped areas as I'm working on that. It is quite a hassle to plop all of that area low-density. PLease comment.

ooooo... how can i put this lightly...? Its somewhat... substandard to the recreations ive seen people work on in my short one week jaunt here. I personally in the great city of Chicago, and i know what it looks like. 1st: Spread out Downtown! Its not THAT compact 2nd: Get urself a map of Chicago on the STEX, ive seen some and theyre really nice, and get some seawalls 3rd: Try Google Maps, convenient for such things

Fix the nightlighting. There is a very clear tutorial on it at SimTrop. Make sure you have a legal SC4 version.

The nightlighting is fine, but it doesn't look like you have the updates to make the custom buildings display night lights(unless you plopped all of them first and left the game paused). Also, there's a building Simgoober did that looks like a building from Chicago that's on the STEX that should go in there. I forget what it's called, it's blue somethin'. It looks like this skyscraper that has a blue sort of traingular roof.

Try downloading some off pegs waterfront seaport village bats to re-create Chicago`s navy pier. It`ll make your city look a lot nicer and more like Chicago.

Mhm, the idea behind your project is very ambitious, although there are a few suggestions (as already posted by Oktoberfest) :

- the map is really important, there are some authentic ones on the STEX

- it's a good idea to use Google Earth not only for re-creating an authentic road system, but also for doing different neighborhoods in an authentic way.

- do not rush it, re-creations take long and are very time-consuming 2.gif

- maybe you browse the STEX, there are some Chicago buildings outh there that could be very useful.

All the best with your project, I am sure you manage everything well, looking forward to more,

lucky7
