Does anyone know of any news about a new Sim City game? Preferably one that's nothing like Sim City Societies? Is it on the cards at all?

First, welcome to Simtropolis! Second....Sorry, but I don't think Maxis is interested in making a new Sim City game. There has been lots of talk, and there's even a petition you can sign. Unfortunately, this is really a dream.

I've read on the forums here that Cities XL is the new-gen city building game. SCS is considered to be SimCity 5 (according to the game files) so if this dream does come true, the next installment would be SimCity 6.

Yea, that's right. Although some people say SCS wasn't a "real" Sim City game, but keep in mind; it wasn't the same creators. Either way, it's unlikely.
