need help

 hi everyone,

   i was hoping someone could help me. im kind of new to sc4 and comepletly clueless on the custom content and need to be walked through it a little. i am trying to build an industrial city and would like to have seaports, frieght trains, trucking ,wharehouses industry etcetera. i have already downloaded the container seaport and the dependancies. do i need the plop leveling tool?  can you point me in the right direction for a good railroad mod and a trucking mod as well and what i would need to go with them. also any other advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest you download the NAM(Network Addon Mod)) not only that it makes traffic much easier to handle, it comes with great tools that are very useful and it comes with three rail mods: Andreas' which is dark ( I would suggest this), the Maxis default, and some other mod that I don't remember. If you want amazing seaports, search "pegasus" and look at his seaports. He also has other outstanding water front lots like boardwalks, marinas, etc. For good industrial buildings go to Sc4Devotion.com and register(you have to register twice: one for the forum and one for the lex) go to the lex and on the side is a drop down bar and go to anything with industry except the ones with CAM in front of it unless you downloaded CAM. The CAM is the Colossus Addon Mod. It basically extends the games growth stages from 8 (of the standard game) to 16. Additionally (if I remeber correctly), it also changes the population requirements to achieve a new stage in your cities developement. If you use the CAM you will neeed to download the buildings that can make use of these additional growth stages. So with the CAM you can really build megalopolies with huge skycrapers ..

im going to loosely model my city off new haven connecticut the home of yale university...also has some of the worst ghettos plenty of commercial industrial and basically a well rounded city

Mikeyfresh, I can help you to create an industrial city. Download the following mod (https://www.toutsimcities.com/downloads/view/1403 (site in French). To download, clicks the orange button) and puts only the mod which increases the request RCI of the industry in your plugins. If you want to improve the residential and commercial request, add two other files. For your transports system, the NAM is certainly the best thing arrived to your sims motorists.
