First, I take this opportunity to wish Dirk and the Staff a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

Since I have become more active in recent weeks, I have noticed that there is usually about 200 people logged on to the system at any time I have been on, which has been at all hours of the day.  I note that the majority are visitors, but that is the limit of information available to ordinary folks like myself.

I am curious as to the universe of our discourse.  While I hesitate to impose any further duties on our overworked staff, is it possible to snapshot some server table (the DHCP table, perhaps) and analyze where in the world people are when on the system?  I think a quarterly snapshot would be interesting to more people than me.

A few years ago, Google's Geo Visitors (same idea) was briefly available on the homepage. It was removed after some people expressed privacy concerns.

We had 12,163 from "Korea (north)"? Makes me even more curios. But then it´s the same figure for "Korea (south)". Could be a bug of that particular software. But it is an interesting tool anyway.
