If you are using windows 7 or Windows Vista, you might be able to recover a corrupted or deleted city to a previous version

If you have corrupted a city, you might be able to get it back if you are running windows 7 or Vista.

Whether or not you made backups or not, windows itself stores previous versions of files in a special location.

Here is how to retrieve these files:

1: Find the location of the city file.  These files are usually in C:/users/[user name]/My Documents/Simcity 4/regions .

Find the region that the file is in, then find the file.

2: Right click the file, then click properties.

3: Click the "Previous versions" tab at the top. Wait while windows searches for older versions. This often takes a while.

4: After they have shown up, click the one you want. select the most recent working one, and then click "Restore" at the near the bottom of the window.

If the file have been deleted, you should go to the properties of the region folder that the city is in, then open the most recent version with it, explore it, and find the file in there. You can copy and paste the file from here.

I posted this because many people are strugle with losing cities to corruption. I no longer have to back my cities up for the purpose because of this. 4.gif
