Hi Guys

I dont know if i've posted this in the right bit, but can some one please help?  I am looking for a program that can check for faulty files and remove them. I know there is such a program for the sims, but was wondering if there was one for simcity too?

My game sometimes crashes and am wondering if its a dodgy file thats caused it.  If anyone can help or point me in the right directiont that would be great.

Thanks!

Well, it can be a conflict. If so, you can use the Cleanitol program (available on the LEX); every building that can create conflicts, has a cleanitol list - you can use it to delete the bad files with the program. Remember that if you have the NAM, sometimes it crashes when you hover puzzle pieces above transit enabled lots.

(it should be under Bugs & Technical Support)

Another thing to note is that if you have those crashes, the only way to check which file(s) cause(s) the problem, is by hand. Simply move 1/2 of your plugins out of the plugins folder, and see if the game still crashes, if it does, the problem lays in the half currently in the plugin folder, so split that half up in 2 and repeat. If the game doesn't crash, the problem is in the not loaded half, so put that one in. Eventually, you'll end up with one file causing the problems, and that is the one you'll have to delete. Time consuming? Yes. Worth the effort? Yes, it beats a CTD every 5 minutes.

Please take note that you test this in a city without an airport and/or seaport, to avoid problems related to that.

Regards,

Korot

Threre is no program that will "check for faulty files" other than the game itself. Korot is correct.. you'll just have to do the dirty work and find them
