How do you restore a map in a region?

If it's a default Maxis region, you can open the Program Files/Maxis/SimCity/Region folder. You will find copies of the original regions there. Just delete the region you want to get rid of from your Documents/SimCity 4/Regions folder, and copy/paste the one from the Program Files folder into it.

If it is not an original Maxis region, just delete the one you don't want, re-download , and install.

Hope this helps...

Exactly!

I personaly find it best to make a copy of a region you download just for this reason (to save time).

If you want you can "obliterate" and save each city from the God Mode menu and it will take the whole map to bear ground with nothing on it. It will not reverse any terraformaing you have done, however.

Hence, that is not how to get it back to it's "orginal" state as he requested. 2.gif

I have 3 cities that is on the region. If I am going to copy over the original region on the region folders, then that would delete all my cities where I have 1 city  that has a population of 180k. That's alot work with the suggestions you provided.

Let me try to explain myself better. You take your orginal unedited region and make a copy of it in another backup folder. If you don't like the results you did, you can simple remove your bad citys and copy over the clean un-edited file

    Example

File A is your orginal region/city

Make a copy of file A and put it in File B

Now you got basicly two of the exact same folder

As you grow file A if you don't like it delete or simple cut and copy it to another folder, we will call it C

So now you got A (which is empty), File B which has your orginal copy and File C  (if you made one) which has your mistakes

So copy file B to file A

So B becomes A and you repeat the process as much as needed

Hope that helps explain it better.

If you mean there are cities you want ot keep on the original but 'reset' the rest, you could use the game's Import function. Place a copy of the cities you want to keep in the Documents/SimCity 4/Regions/Downloads folder. After replacing the region, run the game, select but don't open the city you want to replace, select the Import button on the city's popup window. That will give you a list showing the cities available for importing. Select the one you want to place in the new tile.

Of course, always backup regions before attempting to change things... Just in case.

No problem and like CaptCity said you can always import your city, turning it into a file then you can remove your city without worrying about never seeing it again.

Sorry I forgot to mention that too.
