Trouble with RTMT

Hello, I just installed the NAM Simulator Z, and it works fine.  But when I tried to install the RTMT, the game will not load. I tried installing RTMT patch 3.51, but the same thing occurred.  Please advise.

Hmmm... Do you mean the game crashes at startup? Haven't heard of this before... Which version of RTMT did you install? If you tried version 3.6, it is necessary to install version 3.5 first (and you wouldn't need 3.51). Also, if you did try 3.5, was it the .exe version or the manual version? Let us know...

Version 3.5. One possible problem, it asks me which version of NAM I have (2x capacity, 5x capacity, etc.). I'm running Simulator Z and don't know which of the options would be the best fit.

I also do not know which of the three Setup files to run: PropFamilies, SingleProps, or 350. Would that decision make a difference?

BTW, I installed it earlier and the game worked, but the subway+bus on avenue tile did not work, so I reinstalled with different options. Since that second reinstall, the game won't even startup with RTMT. And when I uninstall RTMT (but not NAM), the game runs fine.

I believe the capacity options determine station capacity. The options in 3.5 were named to match the NAM controllers at the time. I usually just leave it on Standard since installing 3.51 or 3.6 the files will replace the files anyway.

You need to always run the RTMT350 exe. After that, you need to choose either the SingleProp or PropFamilies to run, not both. The differences are explained in the Readme, but basically the SingleProp version sets all stations to have the same props everytime. The PropFamilies version allows more customizing. If this is your first time using RTMT, you might want to go with the SingleProp as it's easier to install and doesn't require any dependencies. You can basically run it and use it.

...but the subway+bus on avenue tile did not work...quote>

You may have experienced a 'bug' that was discovered after 3.5 and has since been fixed in version 3.6.

...so I reinstalled with different options. Since that second reinstall, the game won't even startup with RTMT.quote>

If you're going to change options, be sure to completely remove old RTMT files before installing new. Files may not be just overwritten due to different names.

    Hope this is helpful...

It works! Not sure what I did wrong last time, but I'm up and running now.

Only glitch is, in U-drive-it missions, cars have trouble driving over an in-avenue subway station. For roads and streets the car is simply forced down the middle--like a toll booth or a bridge--but if I'm not perfectly parallel to the lane when entering the avenue-subway tile, it's like hitting a brick wall.

Does the 3.6 patch fix this?

I believe that this is just an artifact of the way road top transit stations work with UDI; I seem to recall seeing it myself.  Assuming that's the case, there is no fix for it, and there is definitely nothing in the v3.60 Add-On Pack that changes this behavior.

Did a litle playing with this, and found that in one instance I did get the same result. I found that,  after running an avenue through the lot, the problem seemed to go away as the next time through the vehicle was 'snapped' to the path and proceded through the station. Just an observation...

That makes sense, especially since your more detailed description made me remember doing the exact same thing with the same results.  Silly memory cells are dying off way too fast here... 34.gif

That also means that you only have to drag the avenue through the station if you've plopped the station since the game was last saved.  Otherwise, saving the game and reloading it has the same effect.

So for all intents and purposes, there isn't a fix for this yet?

This is just the way that this type of lot works; either dragging an avenue through the station or saving and reloading the game will always be necessary. That's essentially the "fix"; it's just the way the game works, and there's really nothing we can do about it. Sorry!

Ah, crap, would be nice though.

Oh well, the other 99% of RTMT rocks!
