Hello everyone

Recently returned to this site after a few years absence, pleased to see how active it still is, a great example of a gaming community if ever there was one!

Thought I'd start a log of my first proper attempt at developing a city in Cities XL.  Got it the other day, so far I'm having fun. 

So my fledgling town is called Shoat, just a word that came into my head.  Who knows, it may develop a specialisation in pig farming...

I'm playing the Wetlands map, as I'm not a fan of building on hills due to the ugly shelves you end up with due to the plots not moulding to the land.

So..whats happened since the last post?

Qualified workers are flocking to the town in droves...developments are springing up to cater for new office workers:

Office Developments....

Many companies have been drawn to the fledgling town, setting up shop along and off from the main road...

Shoat is becoming a bit of a business hub, a trend set to snowball if the mayor gets his way...

Pedistrian areas cater for lunching workers:

The corporate towers are a world away from the fledging industrial and farming districts just down and across the river...tensions are on the way...

I really like the sedate pace of your journal. Things look very pretty, even in the early stages. Keep up the good work. There are so few CitiesXL journals, each one is important for teaching others. Thanks!
