I know of the mod for Dirt Roads that has been made, but i was wondering, are their any modds that mean I can still have steets along with dirt roads?

So, the dirt roads are ploppable, like the streets, if you get what i mean.

Like a seperate unit...

Erm...

I've hoped I've explained what I meant good enough for you too understand what I'd love to be able to use...

If somebody has a better way of saying it, then by all means, please do.

(I never was the best at english in my class...)

Are you talking about SAM (Street Addon Mod)? That uses starter piece technology to allow multiple street styles at once (including the Maxis default). You plop the starter piece, then use the regular street tool to drag out the new style. There are video tutorials on YouTube if you need a better explanation.

As cityobserver mentioned, you might try the SAM. It currently has eight different textures (including two different dirt, asphalt, brick, gravel, cobblestone, parking, and the default textures). While they don't always connect to each other nicely, they can be used in the same city at the same time. It is available here.

You can use it in an existing city. Just plop one of the starter pieces on top of an existing street and a portion of it will change to the texture used. You can then redrag the streets or just replop a street tile every 5 or 6 spaces. Then demolish the starter piece.

I just remembered this (SAM Stopper) that you might try to get more control over where the textures start and stop. I haven't tried it so I don't know how effective it is. Just a thought...
