The next thing MC could do, is to make sure that it is not possible to buy from another city for like 1 c a unit, if you for example buy from your own 2. city. Maybe it should cost more, and maybe the Omnicorp should have flexible prices according to the market.

It is tricky to make ok, as omnicorp should not neccesary be the price setting profie.

It is sometimes ok just to sell to omnicorp for the 83, as there are no others to sell to above this price, and when buying from omnicorp it is not an option as it is way too expensive. That is why I  myself created an industry city, a farm city and a holdiday city. That way I can just buy from the other cities for 1 a unit, but I have thought, that it might change so it is not possible to go as low in price ?

I don't agree. I think everyone should have the freedom to trade how they want to trade.

If any changes are made to the trading system, they need to extend the contract length. 5 days is not enough.

There should be an input for how long the contract offer is and an option for auto-renew.

It's a real hassle to keep going back every few day to re-new all my contracts manually.

And if someone doesn't log into the game on a frequent basis, all their contracts get dropped.

This could also help reduce traffic on the server.

Also maybe there should be a limit on the number of identical contract offers from the same person.

I noticed today that some people completely flood the marketplace, smothering out everyone else.

They need to adress the whole trading thing...as it is now it is to muhc of a hassle in general.

I spend most of my time redoing my tokens instead of building my City when I got time to log on, total nightmare if you ask me.

The market fluctuates like crazy, contracts last only 5 freaking days and can be broken at any time without penalties whatsoever.

this whole trading thing is actually the thing preventing me from building a city properly and enjoying this bloody game.

Sorry if I sound a little frustrated but thats because I am.

And ye offcourse managing a City is all about making sure you got the economy sorted in every way possible but these tools given to us are just not thought out enough.  Hope they will develop this game in the right direction and these issues get adressed.

Out.

penalties for breaking contracts sounds good.

...but only if the contract is with another player, only if the contract is deliberately canceled through the trade window.

We should be free to break as many contracts with ourselves as we want.

Actually, I only trade between my own cities.

Yeah, I have thought of penalties too, but the way that Pete1061 writes.

I am also using a lot of time trading and making sure trade is ok because MC resets without warning several times. The other day all my cities tokens was reset to 0. Today it was 2 of my cities. The least MC could do, was to send a warning.

I can't believe that they still haven't sorted the market?!

these problems were around from about half way through the beta (since the apparently improved market place came out) & there's still the exact same problems hanging around.

    That's a real shame & quite dissapointing.

I'm going to say it now, just as I've said it to Phillippe when it was brought up in chat.

Penalties on cancelling trades, is bad. Especially for people who are building megastructures, and if you're online, odds are you will be.

Phase one of more than half of megastructures requires 50 offices. Fifty. And this phase can be completed within a day. 24 hours at most, less than 15 minutes in the least. By instituting penalties you'd be forcing the people who bought these 50 offices, and deterring them from selling them, rending their cities useless because of the abundance of offices they're now stuck with. Phillippe had mentioned "just resale them" but that doesn't work either. Because now you're wasting 100 trade slots just to buy 50 and sell 50. And what happens when your initial purchases expire and you're forced to cancel the 50 sold offices? You either have to source yet another 50 or take a penalty anyway. Not to mention that you'd then be playing the "I bought fifty at X I must sell them for X and not X minus 5 or else I'll lose even more money." circular problem.

The people who complain that it isn't fair, or that they can't play because they can't sell their tokens, fail to realise or mention that they can all instantly turn around and sell those tokens to omnicorp. That's what they're there for. :\

Yes, I can see the point with megastructures, but then it should be possible to type in for how long the contract will be running, as others have suggested earlier.

Then it could also be possible to make contracts run infinite (as long as you want, dont know if it is spelled correctly. English is not my normal language). It would be nice not to have to renew contracts with omnicorp (as they are not flexible in prices) or one of my own cities, and it would be possible to have a contract for just a day for megastructures. But the penalty would still be good then, because it is bad when they are just cut, when you think you have a nice deal.

Easy stuff. The first day you build one BP, the next day you build the 2nd BP and on the third day you build the 3rd BP. Its all about planning 4.gif

But like citynerd stated above, we should and will be able to set a time scale on how long the contract gonna run. Im guessing that MC disabled it for now course of the bugs, but during beta we could make deals that lasted from 1 to 30 days.
