I'll reply to comments in my next proper update.  Today's images are just because the Xmas update has arrived wiith its enhancements to night lighting and, of course, the Xmas lights. 

So tonight I have a bunch of night images for you:

4.1  Overview - I like that!

4.2  The town hall and its oversized Xmas tree - that's probably where the residents' taxes are going!

4.3  Santa visits the old part of Buttersfield - I guess he's on foot as he's forgotten where he parked the sleigh.

4.4  Timber-framed buildings and Xmas lights - what  a nice combination.

4.5  A street in the commercial area of town.

4.6  The crescents.

Sorry for taking so long to update; it was a busy run up to Xmas.

Replies:

rusummer1 - I've not paid too much attention to The Sims 3 - the second one never really hooked me so I didn't take any notice of three.  Is it an improvement on two?

Xidillon - Hope you've got your copy now and are enjoying the game.  The Xmas lights were included in the last content pack that added lights to the cars and generally improved the nightlighting.

Skimbo and Larks - Thanks for continuing to drop by and comment.  Congratulations on your Trixies, too. 

Update 5

5.1  There's been quite a lot of development since the last update, the main focus of which is the creation of a new avenue running along the lake and the start of what will eventually become the CBD - currently just low and medium density.

The move into medium density office buildings has seen executives start arriving in Buttersfield and so a new lakeside housing development has spung up to accommodate them.

5.2  Executives are also needed to work in Buttersfield's nascent high-tech sector.  This is just one of a number of small industrial parks that are starting to appear.

5.3 As the industry close to the town centre turns to manufacturing and hi-tech, heavier industry is being pushed into the outlying regions.  This trend has resulted in the industrial satellite town of Caxton growing to the west of Buttersfield.

 5.4  Offices and plazas; it must be the business zone!

5.5  Looking out over the town.

5.6 Avatar park and the Novotel - in the heart of the business district.

Well I was hoping they'd be inventing something to remove all the Xmas decorations before we got a week into January.

Next update will be when MC get round to taking the Xmas trimmings down

Some really nice pics there, especially the night shots  And that walking Santa - a great detail that livens a bit the game...

However, I'm still not persuaded to buy the game  To me, all the surfaces look too plain...

But I really enjoy this CJ! Keep up the great work

I find it amusing that Ravensmoor and Hamsworth drove the mayor to drinking just before you started your new city.  I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who gets bored/annoyed and restarts.
