Mary, we don't usually have any particular special, but for you today, Fish and Chips.  Deep fried filet of cod, French fries, cole slaw of cabbage, carrots and apples -- house slaw dressing.  Mint and Lime Jello for dessert.

Mary, I think you will find that this clam chowder might fill your desire for seafood.  I myself am on the see-food diet: See food, and eat it.

Roman:  Salmon?  How about poached Arctic Char with sauce tartare, spring vegetables, and shoe string potatoes?  Char and Salmon are sort of related, pink flesh and all, but the char also resembles trout.  People in the South Pacific probably never see this northern delicacy.  Best Arctic Char I ever had was in the dining room of the Chateau LaCombe in Edmonton.

Here is the full dope on the char.  I'll bet it is better if you can get it in Inuvik.  Certainly fresher.

 

As you can see, it is a relative of the salmon, and certainly tastier.  Canada has three sea coasts, the char from the arctic ocean, and salmon from both the Atlantic and the Pacific.  While I like the Restigouche (Atlantic) salmon, I find that mostly I prefer wild Pacific salmon.

 

We once had a small salmon given to us and we baked it, enjoyed most of it and turned the rest over to our pet cat who so gorged himself on it that he passed out.  There was nothing left but bones. 

 

Poor Nemo, he died of diabetes a few years later.  Nemo got his name because we couldn't think of one so we called him Nemo (Nobody).  He was a solid black medium short hair with only a little white spot on his chest.  Very affectionate, but subject to feline urinary blockage so we had to be very careful with his diet.

Spaghetti and orange float?  I hope you meant you wanted a plate of spaghetti with an orange float.  I don't think an orange float would be a very good sauce for pasta.  Maybe you would enjoy an Ice Worm Cocktail?  Most cheechakos seem to want one.

 

Properly sunk in a glass of Newfie screech, the ice worm is a white thing with dark blue eyes and a red dot for a mouth.  I'm sure you would enjoy it.

 

Today's menu has already been given, but we'd gladly add this cocktail as a warm up.
