Well, there's certainly nothing on SC4's level.. but there are some decent ones out there, especially "period" games; Grand Ages:Rome is a decent Roman city builder, albeit with a few quirks; Tropico 3 is also pretty fun.

I always thought Metropolismania for PS2 was addicting43.gif a bit old now (i think about 4 or 5 years), and Extremely simple, but addicting. Definately one of those games that you say to yourself, "Why in the world am i playing this?!?!" as you keep on playing it for another 3 hours 3.gif

Awaiting signature arrival...

Cityscape's not really a game, though... just a modeller for 3D environments. Plus you can't save what you build, unless you have a full version licence... at only 19,000 dollars a pop :/

City Life was an OK city builder, but since you have CXL already, there isn't much point in getting it unless you can find it cheap. Tropico 3 is a good modern game, and is available for both PC and 360. It's a little more complex than SC4, but it has a lot of comedic value to it (especially the radio station host). There's also a demo available for it so try that out. You should also look out for other demos to get a taste of what they're like.

I found out only today about CityScape. You're right that it's 'just' a modeling software, but for me it's going to be a fine new toy for building interchanges 9.gif.

How many of us nowadays use SimCity 'simply' for modeling purposes (CJs, whole plopped cities, etc.)  and don't play the game as such anymore?

Saving shouldn't be a problem. Having the demo verison myself, I may save and reload my terrains as I wish. The only restrictions are as follows:

direct copy from the manual

DEMO VS. FULL VERSIONS

The free Demo version of CityScape functions exactly the same as the Full version, with three exceptions:

1.The Demo cannot export terrains.

2.When you run the Demo, a blank terrain automatically opens in association with the Demo project file for library items. In the Full version, you must open or create a terrain manually, and associate it with a project file of your choice (or creation).

BTW, this was my first try with CityScape 1.gif:

If it worked in Vista, you will need to download the latest Vista drivers.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

I read once somewhere that you may need to update the TAGES driver to the newest version (linkie). CL 2008 schould work fine aftwerwards. I don't know about CL World Edition though.

Hope this helps 1.gif.

P.S. I can't help you further than this as I don't play CL anymore nor do I have Win7.
