Downloadable Regions With Street Designs?

Ok I know that it is impossble to download entire cities from here cause it would be too big but is there anyway to download a city or region with street and rail layouts?  Anybody ever seen anything like that?

I am having a heck of a time putting in my streets the way I want them.  For instance if I want some diagonal streets I can't make them and can't find a mod to do it so I put in diagonal roads.  As long as the diagonal faces right then I'm cool but if it faces left then it has a tendency to curl and make loops and strange s curves and such.  

Plus I know nothing about laying down a good rail system.  Any help or suggestions of where I can download a few so I can see my mistakes and learn?

no yo can't download a pre- streeted city since you have to incorperat it to put the streets on

There is a diagonal street tool which places diagonals in about 8 tile lengths and overcomes some of the "peculiarities" of drawing htem the usual way.. its about the 4th tool down on the "roads" menu dropdown You just plop them down, then go back and delete the "construction lots"

You have to install the NAM for this tool to appear, though.

Yah, you can't have a region with street layouts unless the region is already rendered and fully rendered regions are not allowed on the STEX. Also if you want diagonal streets you need the NAM. Once you have the NAM, then you could either use the diagonal street tool, or drag a diagonal street by zig-zagging the streets and they will form a diagonal street.

Greyveil had a region with the transits in place posted on a file sharing site, but it is no longer active.  I have the file [testbed.zip], but it is over 26MB in size, so I have no way to share it.

You might PM Greyveil to see if he might again put it up for download.

Building your city's infrastructure is part of the entire SimCity experience. Making streets, roads, avenues, highways, etc. is unique since its going to be suited just for your city or cities. It may be difficult not only for you but for everybody but, like what I said, it's all part of the experience of playing SC4 and by getting cities with prebuilt streets will ultimately remove the purpose of the city building game that SC4 is.

I appreciate all of the info.   I do have the NAM and I just discovered the tool so I appreciate that.  Gonna try it out.

And I didn't want the files just to cheat.  I wanted them so I could learn and disect.  But I guess trial and error is the way to go.
