Hello, and welcome to my new CJ: Ribbon City 2.0

After having multiple crashes at every time I viewed my city, I had to delete the city.
Witch wasn’t such a bad time because I was a good lesson, in handling a quiet large city (400.000+)
With a fresh start I’m now focusing more on the quiet, balanced and slow approach.
I’ve also chosen a different map, the ‘Lake of the Plain’, which has holiday’s!

Some of the details of my city:

• One star for Oil, Water, Fertile Area’s and Holiday’s
• Mixed city with offices and industrial area
• Playing in the Solo Mode (with the unfair trade with Ommicorp)
• Quiet, slow and balanced style
• Making futuristic city design

Looks like you off to a good start! I am using the same map for my second city and I love the different types of terrain it has. Flatlans, lakes and some hills. Perfect. It will be interesting to see how your city unfolds with the "slow and easy approach"

I will not continue the other one because the game crashes constantly, had to delete that one.. (thread is closed)

My focus is now to make a good city in this Journal witch hopefully doesn't crash..

Update 1:

• City population is almost ±5000
• Health center and Basketball Court were added
• Quilified Workers area have been build
• First offices build

Update 2:

The city is starting to shape up a bit, the first (export) contracts have been made, which is very nice.

We have past the 5000 mark, now we were able to build medium density buildings for the unqualified workers.

As seen on this picture:

Also, the second main way has been build, so I've changed it to one-way's on each side: (offices between the hills)

Because of the growth of our industry, the demand for fuel was getting more and more.

The Mayor decided to build a Fuel Field, so that our citizens can freely use their cars, who are vital!

Update 3:

It has been a few days since I played in the city, but we made good progress!

The City has nearly 30.000 people, with now medium density offices and industrial area..

Today, the Mayor welcomed the first Executives in Ribbon City, as shown here:

Executives need to work, so we have made a small high-tech zone, close to the farmlands.. (at the left

This picture also shows the entire residential area, the offices in the north and industrial in the far corner...

For anyone who is interested in the traffic map:

I'm now currently working on the circle of residential's in the north, as shown better here:

The concept in this picture is to have the high density buildings in the middle and low at the ends etc.

Now with some low density shops were the people get their needs!

I love the symmetry of the circular area - the way the two connecting roads (bisecting radii, I guess) look on the transit view.

Making the circle was actually very hard, I had to click the road each time to see if each side had the same length..

Our city has almost 75:000 inhabitants, with no other things from the last update, so here is Update 4!

After making some screenshots with Xfire (better quality) I've made this postcard.

First, I wiss to thank everyone for viewing my CJ, which hit 1000 views today!

I've been working on the city the last few days, which almost cost a crisis in Ribbon City.
I exedently destroyed the Utility Center which caused a crash of my few (4) trades with Omnicorp..
After fixing this I was able to continue, with the city reaching 100.000!
I'm very pleased to say this, because we can almost welcome to first elites..(the unhappy one )

So, here is Update 5 with some nice pictures:

Our city has just hit 120.000 people and it's still going very well!

Some things that i've done:

Relaying the roadnetwork, i've upgraded the roadcapacity from 60 to 80 cars per minute.

Also laid down some expressways, which replaced 2 one-way avanue's.

The main road next to the residential area is moved away from this, elites can now live at this area..

This will posted in a few yours..

For now, the new Ford Dealer (in patch 392)

This building suprised me because it gives -2% air pollution (which is good)

Today Update 6!

I've been working on the road in and around the city, some have been upgraded.

The main link has been put more to the south, also the tunnels have moved.

On the first location, the first elites have come to live!

Update 7:

Welcome to my next update, I've been working on some small improvements to the traffic flow.
On this picture: Overview of the city with the executives at the front, with the high density towers with unqualified workers on the background!

After the traffic has been fixed, the Mayor looked again at the city needs.
He found out that the city has a shortage on qualified workers, so he gave the order to build some high-density buildings which will hold the people required for our city!

With more than 150.000 people, the option was unlocked:

Hello, welcome back to the CJ, in today Update 8!

I've been working for a while now on the city which I think shapes nicely
Some city services have been upgraded, the old ones which costs 5000 per turn have been replaced for ones with 10.000 per turn. The satisfaction has grown this way, the level is even for elites above 70%
The current number of citizens is 208.000

Still, the traffic problems were killing me. I choose to build a extra road (5 lanes one-way) to the industrial area..
The North Link has shaped up very good aldo not all the traffic problems are solved..
As seen on the picture below, the creating of a new CBD (left upper corner) as the demand keeps rising
