Making the Entire US into one Region

Sorry I know this was a thread before but I couldn't find it - much appreciated if a mod could merge this to that one. I am not one who can make stuff but the idea interested me enough to look into it. No way it is possible. Doing so would require a region using approximately 1200 large city tiles wide by 640 large city tiles high. Of course this could be reduced by cutting out the regions that were entirely ocean or within Canada or Mexico, but would still be huge. Without cutting out those areas it would encompass approximately 768,000 large city tiles. Likely you would need a supercomputer to handle this. It was an interseting idea to look into though. Also note I didn't include Alaska, Hawaii or US territories.

I think there is a max on a region size. A US has been made, and I think it was as big as they could make it. They would need to bend some barriers to make something like that.

You could always do it in regional pieces to stay within the limits of the game

I'm wondering if you could even make a whole state as a sigle region. I'm fairly certain you could if it was Rhode Island, and likely Delaware and Connecticut but that might be it, and I seriously doubt the larger states would work.

I think It could be done quite reasonably if you broke everything down to clusters of a few dozen counties each, it would probably fill up a 500Gig hard drive and require some kinda external program to help organize all of it. It wouldn't be practical but at least you would be setting some SimCity 4 records.

You might be able to make Hawaii fit in a single region if you move all the islands closer to each other.

 blades right, the biggest region is between 150 and 160 kilometres. I don't know the exact figure, sc4 will render 150 x150 but it will not render 160 x160 kilometres

Why you don't look for the USA Island region?

It isn't huge and looks like a good place to build up.
