Multiple cities on the same planet!? Trade with yourself!?

I apologize for my confusion - I've only played long enough to do the tutorials and get small cities started.

I was under the impression that you would only be able to build one city on any one planet.  If you can build multiple cities on the same planet you can simply trade with yourself.  Last night I realized I could create additional cities on the same planet?!?  Can I trade with myself too?

I don't want to build two cities that totally depend on eachother if this is going to change - which makes it seem unlikely that they would make such a change.

Am I missing something here?

Hi, atm the moment you can build multiply cities on the same planet and trade with yourself. Have 3 cities and it works just fine at the moment but unsure if they will change this in the future. Dont think they will change the possibilty to have more then one city on one planet but they might change trading to yourself which works now.

5 cities per planet and yes, you can trade with yourself (by putting up a buy/sell order with one city and then accepting it with the other).

It seems intended and I doubt it will change, luckily!

Does this cheapen the experience?  I was shopping around for the best prices to buy/sell tokens, but now I can just build another city to provide what I need.

I kind of like the idea of not being totally at the mercy of the free market, but I'm not sure how to feel about it.  Oh, well.

Well, in theory you should be able to balance out resources between 5 cities so that you don't need to buy or sell to anyone else... but I don't think it's easy 3.gif It's not as straightforward as "my city is short on oil and holidays, so I'll build another to provide those!" because then, that city needs resources as well.... so you build another city... which needs other resources... etc. etc. 3.gif

In the end you could end up with a very profitable set of cities, but it might actually be easier to just focus on one city and buy/sell on the market...

They are moderators and by making a post, they mark the thread as read for themselves and others. It was originally the mod shield (I am pretty sure that blue lettering and mod shields will be edited out from non-moderator posts by the moderators themselves, I have not tested it though...)
