Ribbon City - City Journal

Starting with my first city journal here at Simtropolis...

After many years of research, geologists found a new land, named The Delta.

They discovered that a huge city could rise from the ground, a city witch could be the homes for many new residents who are looking for a home. After the good news, mayor Jim Cart, started with his ideas.

He gave the order to make the preperations for the new city.

A few weeks later and the first 5000 inhabitants have their new homes!

Because of the stupid paperwork at the mayor´s office, we have lost the first pictures of the city..

Don´t worry, because we have some nice pictures to show:

The residential area for the unqualified workers with some shops

The wide road to the industrial area (behind the hill) with traffic flows on each side:

The traffic flowing between the city centre and the industrial area:

These are the pictures I can give you now, maybe a new update in a few hours!

Update of October 21th:

Our city has just hit 75.000 inhabitants, traffic problems are getting common these days..

The Mayor is still waiting for the unlock of the expressways, maybe then we can solve these problems..

Looking good so far. The more I see of the actual game (as opposed to threads debating the different problems with it) the more excited I am to play it. Thanks for showing us your efforts and keep the pics coming.

Finally we hit 100.000 inhabitants!!

The Mayor quickly realised that we were now able to build the expressway, as a result:

The Mayor doesn't have any experience with a city more than 100.000 people so I hope the city will survive my actions

Update October 22th:

500.000 people is going to be a very hard, that would be a city I have never made

After the 100.000 people celebration, the Mayor received the blueprints for a new Landmark!

Quickly, I orded the construction: 'It will bring more people to our city!

As here the result: (the Brandenburg Gate)

That's true, maybe I'm going a bit to fast for now, aldo the speed in the game can be really high... (my experience)

I wish to thank you all for the viewing of my Journal, and I'll most a new set of pictures (detailed) tommorow (European time)

I think that the Journals of CXL will be a lot different, while there is no good terraforming (like god mode) etc.

Also the building rate in CXL is higher because of the fact that otherwise your city will go nowhere when having shortage in workers/factories/offices.

Update October 23th:

The City has now hit 200.000 inhabitants and the education level is only dropping, no matter how many schools a build.. Anyone has a idea why?

Update October 24th:

We have hit more than 500.000 inhabitants and I took my chances to build the 'fast lanes'

Because of my massive traffic problems (witch the game pointed me well on...) I builded the highway's at all the important expressways. After some tunneling and bridging I discovered a few things about building highways.

It was a bit weird that a highway bridge couldn't be connection to a fast lane, only at a intersect.

I think I did a good job for the first time using highway...

O, and not to forget, the traffic problems are still here

I might post a traffic map tommorow, maybe the community can help me with the traffic problems!?

Due to a crash of the city, the income by exporting tokens was suddenly 0... They were still in the list but my income was -145.000 witch made my city go bankrupt..

There was nothing I could do and I have deleted the city (there was no saving possible)...

Also, the game crashed, every moment I viewed the industrial area with the intersections...

After this great city, the largest witch I have ever had, I will start a new city..

With also a new Journal, I wish to thank everyone for viewing this Journal and I hope to see you in the new one!
