Before i start compaining i would just like to say that this site is wonderful and i have found a great place for my simming needs. Ok now on to the complaining

How come theres no place to download somebodies city/region, isnt it possible?

I have downloaded a city from some other site before and unfortunatly it sucked. Since the people on this site actually know what they are foing maybe you could find out a way for you to upload he best regions/cities so that others could download them. I know that since i suck a starting cities this would be great. To play with a region that someone else built, that would be awesome. Come on you guys probably have regions filled to the brim with cities and i am eager to download them and play 'em

Yes, a city exchange would be fun.  Unfortunately, those files are rather large and we just don't have the bandwidth for it.
 
But, you're right, it would be fun.

A city exchange is on the cards but as said there's no bandwidth here for it and there can be dependencey proplems.

They would probably have to be stand alone cities, seeing as many people use region play, so the cities would not work properly anyway, also you would have to have all the plugins used in the city, or the person who made it would have to without plugins.

also most people that i know including me have over a gig of plugins which would... for most... an immpossible task to download... if you really want to download a city/region you can download the UCS2 region and plugins which all together is about 190mb

Answered...

  1. Too big
  2. Too many plugins that are used
  3. Induvidual city tiles depend on each other, thus, buildings would abandon.

I've been trying to organize something called City Squad. Read more here . My idea still has to be approved but it would solve many of the issues with uploading cities.
