I have been getting that error for 2 days and MC has been useless.... They keep saying check my spam box in my email.. Thats not the problem... I never had any problem with emails...

Only difference is mine is not steam but the boxed version..

I've activated mine, and I bought through Steam. I've done the tutorials and everything.

I'm having the same problem when registering my key. It also won't download any updates, keeps saying it failed after I login. (I have the limited edition box edition)

If anyone has the answer to the registration email problem, please post soon as I've wasted 12 hours on this so far & am thinking of asking for my money back. Why wont MC reply to our emails?

 The quick answer is, it's release day and as frustrating as it is for all the players that cant get in and the issues they have with DRM etc... they're busy just trying to keep their servers from crashing with all the people downloading. They should have forseen this. Obviously if you're going to require a ton of people to always be logged into your servers, people downloading the game, updates, etc AND playing online, they should have prepared for the massive load. But, it happens, I bet with in a week everything will be smoothed out. I'm sure your emails weren't returned because they probably got thousands of emails from people and most probably went something like

'AHHHHH TEH GAME DONT WERK!!! GIVE ME MONEYZ BAK!! CD KEY DONT WERK, U GUYZ SUK!!' and they'll have to weed through it all.

Remember you're not the only precious snowflake that had problems and I wouldn't be surprised if they're working this weekend to iron out the issues with the game and then on monday, deal with the unhappy customers. Release days on Friday's usually mean working weekends. The office is closed so customers cant yell and complain to the developers, but they can concentrate and fixing the CTDs and other major problems.
