One of these days I won't be able to afford my shelter costs.  The welfare people won't help because I have just a little too much income.

Other than land lease, food and house costs, my major expense is communications.  Fortunately (?) I have a bundled system from my cable provider with Internet, telephone and TV/FM radio.  After that I have to find money for vet services (my only companion is my dog).  If anything happens to my health, I will probably have to go bankrupt and give up the dog.  This will probably be fatal.

I have to say that that is a real fear, infinitely more serious than running out of beer.  Amazing powers are at work in the world, and their actions do, and will, have lasting repercussions on one or more generations.  I am not sure what is in store for me and my family when we reach retirement.  It is a dog eat dog world and that is something to fear.  I am amazed at my own 80 yr old grandmother's ability to live day-to-day on her Social Security and pension.  But then, she grew p in the depression and learned how to live a frugal life.

Thats one of the big problems aproaching a LOT of people who even though the have decent jobs they still live day to day, paycheck to paycheck and live the close to  the edge life.

That descibes me not becuase i waste money, im very frugel, but the mecidal history i have  alot of my income goes to prescriptions i take.

My Dad finaly retired, i think the broken color bone he got in the accident finaly made him start leting my sister take over his inspection business. fortuneatly both my parents get both social security and Navy Pensions.

Being a child of the depression myself, I too am used to the frugal life. However, at one pont I managed to get fairly high up on the hog. If you have never heard it, you should look up htat old depression favorite "Brother, can you spare a dime."

Define "unusual". There are more insects (by number of species, by number of indivisuals, and even by mass) on Earth than there are of any other animal. Six legs is as usual as you can get. Hell, most larger land-based animals have four legs. Having two legs is fairly "unusual"...

I'm not afraid of snakes, spiders, rats, etc.

It's people that scare me. Animals don't build concentration camps or gulags.

Although I will admit that Pachy the elephant was very intimidating.

On the homeless issue, as I've mentioned before in another thread, I have been homeless. It isn't the end of the world, but where you are homeless makes a big difference. It can be overcome, I'm proof and I saw many others recover from it. I will admit I was a lot more comfortable than one could reasonably expect in those circumstances, but I credit that to God's mercy and not my own qualities. It will open your eyes to some things, that's for sure.

Okay This is the plain and simple way for me to describe my Phobia ...

Anything over 4 Legs is something I personally Consider Unusual and

usually something I choose not to be around . Anything Four legs and under

is a normal amount for me and is something under Normal circumstances

I usual socialize with very well and have zero phobia about it. Now for some

reason one of you decide to find a perticuler bug that I'm un aware of that has

less than four Legs ...The answer is ...I have a Phobia about it 3.gif So in conclusion

any type of Bug Period ...It doesn't matter what Scientific classification it's under ...Or

what particular species it is ...If it is a bug or something that looks like a bug...Then

I will have no association with it whatsoever ....Matter of fact it will probably meet it's

I imagine ladybugs would be on that list then. I don't blame you... I hate ladybugs. Ever since one of them bit me I have had a personal vendetta with the ladybug family. At least I think it was a ladybug. They don't particularly frighten me though. I only bring it up because I am currently staring out the window at a few hundred of the little rascals. I don't know where they came from but they are all over my newly painted porch. What hatched?

    From lady-bugs.org

Ladybugs are often attracted to light-colored buildings and especially to walls that get a lot of sunlight. Because of this, ladybugs usually choose the Southwest sides of light-colored buildings close to areas populated with trees. Dark colors or shaded buildings are not as likely to attract ladybugs. Upon settling on a suitable site, the ladybugs release a chemical cue which causes more ladybugs to gather in the area.

    quote>

Well there you have it. I'm staring out a southwest window of a white building. Not very sunny today though...

Oh, the site also mentioned that ladybugs do not bite humans or pets. My question now is, What the heck bit me and blamed it on a ladybug?

OK. This is getting wierd. Well not really because this is exactly what lady-bugs.org said would happen. Since I first posted, the number of ladybugs has visibly tripled. One has even managed to get inside the building. Great. Also, there appears to be a sudden infestation of termites(or at least insects that looks like ants with wings) in the back of the building. I noticed a flourescent vest outside, and it was the meter reader. He told me ladybugs are all over the neighborhood today. What the heck is going on? Please excuse me while I attempt mass killings on the grounds, and tell my story if I'm overcome by insects!

Yeah, I read about that earlier today. I decided the ladybugs should be left well alone, as agitating them in any way may cause them to secrete their whatever. This would attract more of them and it apparently stains. I just painted that porch white in July. I don't want ladybug juice all over it. As the clouds came in and the temperature dropped, they dissipated. There were only about 100 or so there when I left work.

The termites, on the other hand, got a Raid bath from a can that may be older than I am. They died anyway... some of them.

Acrophobia, Claustrophobia, Coulrophobia, Gerascophobia, Heliophobia, Necrophobia, and Taphophobia. Mainly because of the Media, or handed down through the generations of my family. Only one, Claustrophobia, is something I developed on my own.

    Btw:

    Acrophobia - fear of heights

Claustrophobia - fear of enclosed spaces

    Coulrophobia - fear of clowns

Gerascophobia - fear of growing old

    Heliophobia - avoidance of sunlight

    Necrophobia - fear of dieing

Taphophobia - fear of the grave

I have quite a lot of phobias actually.

I cannot stand bugs in general, particularly wasps, and anything wiggly that eats the dead (maggots, centipeds, etc.).

I am also afraid of heights, but only when I am standing on the edge of a high up place. I have been sky-diving, hang-gliding, free-falling, and it didn't bother me in the least. If I stood on the edge of a two storey building I'd freeze.

Another phobia is the fear of cutting myself with paper sheets. I am always over careful when turning the pages of a book for example 4.gif
