Ok so I really believe in the motto build out before you build up. Currently I have a city with almost 70,000 population all low-density. The Problem is with medium wealth demand. My low-wealth residential, low wealth commercial, dirty industry, High wealth Residntial, High wealth offices and services, as well as high-tech industry all have perfect demand The only problem is my medium wealth residential, medium wealth commercial and manufacturing all have terrible demand. I need medium wealth because my civics are too good for low wealth but at the same time I don't want to water my entire city yet.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should do?

Does your industry have water? You'll get larger buildings with more jobs, creating demand for mid-wealth residents.

What's your education score? Tax level for manufacturing?

I'd experiment and see what happens if you give water to some of your houses though.

All my civics are great, I'm taxing medium wealth like 1% and I do have part of my city watered but I don't want to water my entire city.

Hmm, starting to sound quite odd. What else do you have in the region/connected neighbours?

what are the commute times like for your residential areas?

I have a feeling I could solve this situation if it was my own game, but your situation is kind of hard to analyse in this way.

well commute times are rather long but I don't know how that would effect demand

Keep building up your hi-tech industry. Hi-tech industry employs more R$$ sims than they do R$$$. This will also work for C$$$ and CO$$$ as well. It is one of those mechanics of the game that many players are unaware of.

I second building more high tech.. they employ a lot of R $$ sims but very few R $$$ or R $.. that'll at least help balance your medium wealth residential population.

It does affect demand, because it existing IM can't find any employees, and existing R$$ can't find any jobs, there's little incentive for more of them to come to your city.

I think you need water for medium wealth growth anyway. Also you should try manipulating taxes. Maybe a neighbouring city has lots of medium? These are all questions that should be asked.

Have you added parks? Medium wealth residents like all the amenities that high wealth residents do, it gives them a big incentive to move in, whereas High wealth residents demand it. How many High wealth residents do you have? if you have a hefty amount of rich people, then the situation would be very very odd.

I have almost as many high-wealth people as I do medium wealth people. Its weird because why would high and low wealth have great demand but medium wealth not?

The easiest way to control proportions of $, $$, and $$$ is via taxes.. raise/lower it in small steps to get appropriate demands.. and don't be afraid to take a bulldozer to lots to help you adjust proportions. "goodies" such as education, medical, etc are difficult to use effectively as it tends to apply overall.. though you can use it to focus on certain areas as you develop them.. also you can use NIMBY's as well as YIMBY's to help
