I went to a knife skills class today. I learned that my Henkle's knife that my aunt (who went with me to and payed for the class) bought me is "gimmicky" here is an image of a similar knife (looks the same other than the brand) by a different brand:

So I made a trip to the liquor store today for a bottle of wine. Typically I don't get carded when I buy wine but on this occurrence I did. (Buying vodka or other spirits almost always results in a request for id, but rarely happens when I buy wine.) After looking at my id the clerk said, "What's your secret?" To which I replied, "This is really bad, but when I was 7 I pushed my sister down the stairs and blamed it on the dog."

Judging by her reaction, she didn't catch the reference...

Copyright isn't the issue, the issue is bandwidth. When you post an image from another site, it has to load from that site's server. Many site owners (dirk included, by the way) do not appreciate this and put systems in place such that images on their server can only be viewed on their site. If another site contains the image, it will either simply not load or display an alternative dummy image which may say something to the effect of "no hotlinking".

For instance, I don't know if Simtropolis is still using this image, but it was as of May 30, 2007:

The solution is that you need to transload the image to a site that is intended for people to hotlink from, such as Imageshack or Photobucket.
