Mirror number!

I thought that Ice Cube disappeared from the scene after he married?

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

I had no idea Cube had a new album out, but I rarely pay attention to new releases. The Predator is still one of my favorite albums. Now I gotta wet'cha!

As for donating blood, I really should do so more often. I have only done so once, but I tried to a second time. A bunch of my friends decided to donate one day. (4 of us) As it turned out, 2 of them were anemic, so they couldn't donate. Neither could I because I happened to be wearing a heart monitoring device at the time, so it wasn't recommended. But I kinda knew that walking in. I know that I am A+.

Edit: Your move, Ilikeseattle.

16 is the legal minimum age to donate blood in Australia, but you need permission from a parent/guardian until you're 18.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I thought 16 was the legal minimum age in the US too, you just need parent permission until your 18. (Just like Australia, it seems). I remember that's how my school would announce it, having to be 16 or older and weighing 115lbs or more.

Yes, this is kitty.

Well, the freshest hip hop these days does not come from the giant US record labels but rather from Latin America (and sometimes independent groups in the US and UK).

I wouldn't know about hip-hop, I don't listen to it.

When Dre's detox album finally drops everybody will have forgotten who Kayne West, Gagoo and the rest of the crap that won awards this year are. The bay area needs to return to the map, and real rap music is here to stay, not any of this studio gangster junk, and wanna bes.

Anyone heard DMX's new cd?,  now theres a real album right there.

I'm more a fan of pop. And rock. And classical. And parodies. And jazz. And electronic. And... you can see where this is going, can't you?

I dunno, classical music generally seems rather flat and uninteresting. Great if you want to put yourself to sleep, otherwise...

And jazz... eh, better, but it's too reliant on brass. Wind-based instruments can add flavor, but they lack meat.

8239. Don't really like classical music either, some 'songs' might be nice, but I find most just boring.

My main preferences are rock, and some pop songs, but certainly not today's stuff.

I prefer rock music, but I like hip hop, blues, reggae (including some ska and dancehall), industrial, bluegrass, and occasionally some classical. I stay away from pop and country. I only listen to jazz when I can't find anything I want to hear on the radio, so I put on NPR.

@Larks: The college station around here plays some good Latin hip hop.

Oh really? While there are certainly quite a few pieces of music that are like that, many are not. For instance, the following four:

The Radetzky March:

Entry Of The Gladiators:

Jupiter from The Planets Suite:

And the Can-Can:

That is all. The best and most dramatic classical piece known to man... well in my opinion 3.gif after 4:30 it gets boring though.

8246. Cacks, fix your number.

Nelson, though those vids indeed falsify Duke's claim of making you fall asleep, they aren't interesting enough for me to keep listening to. Parts of some of those might be suitable as theme-song for a science fiction program, such as Star Trek. 3.gif

What would all of you choose as your "theme song" if you had one?

I'd have to go with either Damone or My Own Summer. Both are by, you guessed it, the Deftones.

8250. @Larks: that's a prejudice. Nonetheless, I would have the same view, if two of my classmates didn't convince me otherwise.
