He's still involved in baseball, though, so of course his number isn't retired. But it probably will be.

Considering they called him J-Fraud and all it'd be a tough sell.

Yep and there will be a huge celebration for Frank Thomas in Chicago, on the 17th i think.  I'm sure your glad he finally gets the recognition he deserves right? You probably already know about it. 10.gif

I should probably be finishing my math assignment now.

EDIT: Dropped thousand? What dropped thousand? You saw nothing... 22.gif

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

And the chances of it ever becoming the 20,000 post thread are slim. Imagine the loading time on that!

7243. Being the creator, I think this thread could go a wee bit longer than 10,000. We'll see when we get there and wherther there is demand for such an expansion. as of now, I don't think so. But maybe after this, a 1,000 post speed thread? I don't know. But the legacy MUST LIVE ON!

    Anyway, a 1,000,000 post thread. Loading time=5 hours...and 21 minutes.

Lag is already becoming a problem here. No thread has ever gotten past 9,000, so going for 10,000 is ambitious as it is. Trying to push beyond that simply isn't going to work.

Fortunately, the end of this thread won't be the end of the game. Many forum games (and other threads) have already gone into second, third, and even fourth incarnations. I don't see why this one would be any different.

Sorry! It's just that I don't follow sports often, much less players.

Now, maybe if it was Michael Jordan, I'd know more...but that's about it. 3.gif

7253 Well, Ill just say what I have to, I am a fan of teams based in Philadelphia, because I was born there, my family is from that area, and I live in the area. So yeah, I support Vick, and I believe in second chances, as well as I support the Phillies, as they are something special to this town, a well as I love watching the flyers fly, hockey has become very interesting to me this year. But basketball and the sixers, well, that's a different story.

The bookstore is holding a copy of Good Omens for me. I'll probably go pick it up in a little while.

    Oooops. 7255.

I'm busy with reading Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancey. It's really good. The Soviets are trying to take over Europe and the NATO. It's like a gloatified game of Risk.

And it's party time in the 10,000 post thread because...

It's the 1 year anniversary of me being on ST39.gif

It really isn't that big of a deal, but I just thought it was cool. See ya!

I got my copy of Good Omens. I also bought Terry Pratchett's Pyramids.

Now that I have read Good Omens, what Terry Pratchett book should I read next?

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

7260 Risk, I love that game. Its so much fun, although I always seem to get taken down my attempts to invade, as well as when I get surrounded.

I've actually never played Risk. None of my friends or family ever owned a copy of it.

The game I really loved as a young kid was Chutes and Ladders. Well, that and Battleship.
