Think about it. Babe Ruth is a legendary figure, known for a great many things. No baseball player is as famous as or more famous than him.

Hank Aaron is, by comparison, just "that guy who broke Babe Ruth's home run record". Like Roger Marris.

Barry Bonds, has, arguably, achieved more fame than Hank Aaron did, out of sheer notoriety - he's become the poster child of the steroid era, the epitome of prospering cheaters. He is the standard to which all other steroid users are compared. Hank Aaron, meanwhile isn't the standard of anything - Babe Ruth is still the standard of home run hitting (among other things).
