My request for simcity 4 is that they should make underwater tunnels, just like the one that connects england with france that would be an important tool as space wouldnt be needed since its going 2 be underwater and that way there wouldnt be excessive number of bridges37.gif44.gif29.gif19.gif44.gif

You can realize watertunnels with a terraforming-experiment.

To connect two island via tunnel, you have to create a line of flat land bethween the island with an hole on each side. Then build a tunnel from hole to hole! When the tunnel is ready, lower the land-line again!

Yup. If you don't understand GoaSkin's post, do a search for tunnel and I'm sure some threads will come up. Or you can PM me and I'll try to give you instructions.

Make sure to dig your tunnel deep, or (i have heard) you will get underwater headlights. not like REALLY deep, but maybe so the sides are at about 60 - 70 %. low enough that the water is opaque.

Welcome to Simtropolis. PM me or others if you need help.

Yes this is a Sim City loop hole. It may take some practice to get right so be patient.

TUTORAIL 3 PART 1 EASY UNDERWATER TUNNELS

Before you can even start terraforming you must pick a spot that has a river or some kind of body of water. Then lay out the street tiles in the same way I have done below.
portnagifeb10011197522930ws.jpg
Now enter God Mode by pressing Ctrl,Alt and Shift all at the same time and click the mayor tools icon. Now click of the level land icon. Then proceed to make the all famous Land Bridge. This method has been used since the very begining of SC4.

Before you lower the Land Bridge back to sea you must build a highway tunnel. Then once the tunnel is in place lower the land.
portnagifeb10011197532518su.jpg
Make sure both sides are even or as close as possible to being extact copies.
portnagifeb10011197532604np.jpg
Once the land is lowered the river can resume its original form. But keep a little land jutting out.
portnagifeb10011197532359kk.jpg
Use ground highways with the CSX Slope Mod to give the back of the tunnel a slope.
portnagifeb10011197537707je.jpg
Do the same with the other side.
portnagifeb10011197537770bc.jpg
Now add some walls for the highway.Grass for the hill and trees to suround the grass.

Repeat and there you go.

I hope this helps.

I'm going to post some more tutorails in my C.J.29.gif44.gif

That Underwater Tunnel Tutorial is very useful, the Principle is exactly the same as in SimCity 3000.

Ant has appeared in my freeway section ...... All I know about it is that it won't make bridges and it costs nothing .....

What are it's other characteristics ?
