Hey all! I'm sorry if this has been asked multiple times, just can't seem to find the answer anywhere..

So; on youtube and screenshots, I've seen a lot of pretty cities with beautiful rivers running through, but what i thought was really beautiful, is that some cities have really    sharp  wharfs/walls along the river.

what mod do i have to get my riverwalls this sharp? any tips, tricks?

oppie's canal mod doesn't seem to do the trick, because i do want to keep the boats sailing in and out my city 4.gif

Hi WELCOME TO SIMTROPOLIS!!!!

I'm not sure weather you meant you cant get your walls straight, or you cant find walls. But i believe its the fist one so here ya go 3.gif

If you read this tutorial it'll tell you a technique. But that only works on an undeveloped city (you will destroy everything if you raise/lower the ground in a developed one)

If you have an already developed city then i think the only way is manually I'm afraid 14.gif, but use mayor tools, there smaller and therefore easier to use.

Hint: Use Ctrl-Alt-Shift while clicking the god mode button to bring back all the terrain tools :-D

Hi bigthing and thank you for your quick reply! I already feel welcome now.. ;-)

this tutorial sure is a lot of work, but it seems that this is indeed the only way to get some straight, functioning canals! 4.gif great!

In addition to what bigthing mentioned, you can use God Mode tools to terraform the coastline of existing cities so that the walls will lay neatly. Once you press ctrl-alt-shift and click the God Mode button to get the tools, you can then control the size of the working area by pushing shift + a number 1 - 9 and working at close zooms. This will save some money rather than doing it with the Mayor Mode tools. Just a thought..

How can you make a straight edge with the mayor/God mode tools anyway? They're so round and not straight at all...

If you use the Level Brush tool at close zooms and the smaller settings, you can usually terraform pretty straight edges. Click and hold on the terrain level you want. Keeping the button down, move over the terrain you want to change. As the center of the tool's circle crosses over tile corners, the terrain will raise or lower to same level.

A foolproof method for razor-sharp embankments: do your general terraforming with God-mode tools (they're free), clean up with mayor-mode, then lay down road tiles one by one along the edge of your embankment. The road tiles are self-leveling, and as long as you keep them separated they will form perfectly level ground.

If you raise the sea-level, you can plop them parallel at the base of the embankment/riverbed also. This is a handy trick when using certain seawalls, which slope-conform (usually deform
