Beginner Questions

I created this topic for all Simtropolis begginners who don't want to get into a confusing topic and ask a dumb question.  So here's mine: How exactly to you download something from the STEX?  I know how you actually download it, but how do you get it to work?  I put my first download in the 'Plugins' folder, and it didn't show up in the game.  To make sure it wasn't a glitch, I tried a few more.  My computer automatically makes the file a "Win RAR" type file--is that the problem?  Please help!

The problem is probably that you have a WinRAR installed on your system and it is the program that handles your .zip files. All DL on STEX are in zip. What you need to do is extract files in the zip and put them in the Plugins folder. Then it should work. If not come back and ask again. And make sure you have all the dependencies for the that particular file.

Hi, i have a question, does all the buildings in the ST Exchange work for Sim City 4? Or is it for Socities?? don't want to mess up my sim city

Most, if not all, are for SimCity 4 Deluxe/Rush Hour.

The download will have a screenshot. Look for simcity qualities in the screenshot
