Mayoral Compounds?

How many of you succumb to the urge to create a grand "mayoral estate" or compound for your Mayor's house?  Like putting your mayor's house in a large swath of open grass areas, parks, trees, etc, and let make your sims groan under the budgetary expenditure necessary for its upkeep.  Is this a good idea?  Anyone got any pictures of theirs?

I usually just plop the mayor's house and put some open grass areas all around it, then put trees, pathways, etc.

If only the mayors house was better and you had choices you wouldn't have to do all that. I usually put a trail to the mayors house which is deep in the forest about 100 meters away from the water and a long way from the city. At the start of the path I make lots of parks and etc.

I put mine where ever my mouse was at the time or if i actually care a very remote corner of the map. I hate the building itself so i hide it.

i put mine in the worst residential section of the city... and i usually put 2

i am too ashame to put the mayor house because it was too ugly =P
