Complete Simcity Soundtrack - From Classic To Societies

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I wanted to put this in the most-trafficked part of the site, and it wouldn't really fit anywhere else because this pertains to all SimCity games.

Anyway, I took it upon myself to compile every single SimCity song from the mainstream games (no DS or Creator music here, sorry) and release it for all you discerning fans to enjoy: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SHW2LKNY

This sounds pretty exciting.  Thanks for the above post.  I look forward to including them all in my SC4 game.  Anyone planning to do the same, just make sure you are prepared for a 500MB download.

After 20 minutes downloading, I just compared and I have all these already in my Mayor Radio Station directory, except for the Societies ones.  It will be great to add those now!  Actually, I also see that I have some of The Sims music in as well, plus the SimMars Project music, and a few new similar-sounding original works from Simtropolis users/composers, made for the gam found in the links above.  Oh, and to top it off, I have the SimCity XBox 360 songs as well added.  But I suppose now I only need the DS and Creator songs to really be complete.

It's good to see that you enjoyed my compilation. Also, I didn't know there was a SimCity for the Xbox. I'll check it out. When you find the Creator and DS music, can you upload it like I did? Thanks. I'll be sure to add those, and the Sims and SimMars music to make a truly ultimate compilation when I get around to it.

I noticed the the sc2k song appears to be 1 minute long and repeats 3 times.  I suppose that helps it from being so short.  I haven't heard of any SimCity 2008 song before. I'm curious where you found that.  Was there a SimCity that came out last year?  Oh actually you labeled them Remixes, so that explains both of these actually. 

This extra SimCity Soundtrack that I have added actually is labeled XBox and PS2 and Wii and 360.  So if SimCity didn't have versions for all of them (and i think they didnt), then these songs which fit in perfectly with the rest, must have been compiled by another Simtropolis SC4 enthusiast from other games that happened to have appropriate songs, and his result was exactly 20 songs that fit.  Thats my backup theory, because it has been so long that I have had them.  Maybe I'll upload the pack so others can try them out.

Oh and in case anyone didn't catch it before, the original creator of the Sim Music has his own website, and that is the link I posted last above. So its not some random thing.  Its pure sim music.  You just have to click down a ways to get to the stuff.  And if anyone is curious how to get The Sims Music to add, over years, I've just found good selections that fit from here: http://thesims2.ea.com/getcoolstuff/music.php?pid=GetCoolStuff_music  Of course some of them are experts and very short.  So you will have to choose if they are worth it.  Enjoy~!

I appreciate the link, but I just wanted the SimCity soundtracks and I got them. If a lot of people pitch in, we might be able to get every song from every Sim game ever or something, but i'm done here. I mean, I just realized it would be excruciating to track down every single song from every single Sims game and expansion pack. I'll stick to the core SimCity games, thank you.

The SimCity 2000 soundtrack sounds pretty bad in comparison with the rest of the collection...too many "fake" instruments. Not your fault, though: SC2K has lots of custom instruments and SFX extremely difficult to replicate.

I think it's because they were recorded in a MIDI style, and MIDI then and now sound way different.

Also on this topic...

I just recently downloaded The Sims 3 Soundtrack, and it is beyond perfect for SC4. So now i have everything in the post i mentioned above, and the new soundtrack. I never hear the same song twice, and it is all the same SC4 style music, whether its a electronica, jazz, etc. I'm now working on The sims 1 and 2 soundtracks, to weed out just the right music to add to the game so ill have everything sim-music possible that has that right feel and sound, in my game. I love the music. ~grinz~
