Quick guide setup please...

Hello everyone, I'm making my return to playing SimCity4!

I will be playing it on my laptop and it runs great. Now I would like some suggestions as to what "must haves" I should add to my game.

I already know about NAM and the newest one out so I'll be getting that, I don't want the RHW though it looks nice it's not really for me, tried it before don't like it for some reason. Going to download the update from the offical website. Now that aside what should I get? I do have the SC4D LEX Disk... but not sure what I "need."

I'm looking to make a large (flat) desert city...

So I don't need anything dealing with water like sea walls, ports, bridges, etc.

I want an American theme so don't need any other "themes."

Just a few buildings that would really make my downtown stand out tall buildings, a stadium, etc.

Oh and is there something that can change that open grass area to match the grass of the other parks? It's so ugly...

Also anything else you think I may need would be nice.

I hope I'm not asking for to much from everyone but this would be a HUGE help!

Your needs and desires are stated so broadly that I don't think anyone feels it possible to help out, maybe.  What you're talking about are the purely personal decisions of creative choice inherent in the game.  To get what you're looking for you should just start searching the STEX for what looks good to you.  Browsing the STEX is half the fun of visiting Simtropolis anyway, IMO!

Here in the STEX you will find a very large amount of skyscrapers of all styles and all purposes.
