Radical and unexplained changes in certain graph readings

Hello all.  This is my first new topic posted here and I hope you more experienced Simmers can help.

In some cities, when I review my graphs sometimes it shows a major drop in a certain variable.  For instance, one graph showed the life expectancy drop from 80 to 50 then back to 80 in the course of a year.  I have seen similar steep drops and rebounds when looking at the commute time and crime graphs too.  This is always a shock to me since nothing major had occurred in the city in the year the drop-off and rebound supposedly occurred.  Any insights would be appreciated.

I would think it is a simple bug. The game is full of them. You will just have to learn how to deal with them like the rest of the "simmers" in the community.

Sorry if this wasn't much help.

There may be a MOD out there, although i don't know of any.

My suspicion is that you played the "faulty graph" city, played with another city and did some major changes to it, then went back to the first city. The neighbor's changes could pull your graph numbers down, and then the city would adjust and the numbers would go back up. The only part that doesn't quite make sense is how it happened over the course of only one year.

But as mentioned, it could quite possibly be a bug, too. There's a boatload of them in the game. Though it's sometimes pretty hard to tell.

If the neighboring cities could have anything to do with it, please mention it.

If it happens again, please mention it.

Fluctuations like that happen. For instance, new residential development will cause that. I have also found fluctuations when restarting a city, but that returns to normal fairly quickly.
