Region render crashes

Hi there!

I've been trying to make my own region using grayscale heightmap. Long story short, I got me a grayscale jpeg and config bitmap (both attached, but I had to convert config to jpeg) and tried to render my region. The config loads fine, I open render dialog, select my jpeg, press ok and the render starts. And then it crashes to desktop. No error message, no nothing. I figured that it might be that my SC4 is broken, so I downloaded some map from STEX, and it rendered fine.

I honestly don't know what's wrong with my heightmap. It's 8bit grayscale and it's correctly sized. It would be great if someone could take a look at my map and tell me what's wrong with it.

Thanks in advance!

Dimonte...

When I tried to use your files in-game, the region that came up was very distorted. Looking at the config file, it appears that there are colors other than the red, green, and blue that the game recognizes as city sizes. Just a thought...

CaptCity is correct, the config file should be a bmp.

You should use colors that are more pure, There should be no color other than green, red, or blue for the different city sizes. There probably no set color level, but I suggest at least 200, and above.

To Tungston... Sorry I changed my post on you there.... I realized Dimonte might have changed the file to jpg in order to attach it to post, and I hadn't noticed your post.

To Dimonte... Hope you don't mind, but I created a new config file to match what I thought was your color scheme just to see if it would work. It seemed to render OK, so I think it might be the color issue...

CaptCity, Tungston, thank you for you responses. It turns out that it was a plugin that caused the crash. Sorry for bothering you. 4.gif
